CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I bought 5 canvas today for only 24 dollars plus tax. What a great deal. And I got paint thinner and gesso cause I couldn't find the ones I had. Maybe I throw them away.
I can't wait to paint, but I don't know what yet. It will come to me, I hope.

You should. I was going to take one and a printmaking class but its all in the mornings and i can't afford to take two days off a week for work. =/

Painting is a different skill, really. Though, I believe if she can draw well painting can come naturally to her, but I know and have seen otherwise.

Drawing is easy. Erasable. Temporary. And I only draw with black. Against white paper. There's not much to it. I'm honestly afraid of color.
Painting is a completely different skill. One I have yet to attempt.

The Dude abides...
Thats one of the reasons I loved Oils, you can work on a painting for a long time without worrying about it drying up too fast. I loved my oil painting class at art center. I need some new paints, haven't done that since high school, but I don't have any of my art desk or easels left, not sure if they got tossed or what

Yay!!I wish I could paint...it probably would be therapeutic for me, and I wouldn't feel like nagging people so much...
Oh it is so wonderful but sometimes its mentally exhausting. One time I spent nearly 22 hours painting, straight. I was drained and felt like all the worries lifted off of my shoulders.

I found cake decorating to be very theraputic. I guess it is whatever you can find that works for you.I wish I could paint...it probably would be therapeutic for me, and I wouldn't feel like nagging people so much...
I can remember spending hours on a cake and feeling like five minutes passed.
I think I'm going to get back into that when I get moved. I kind of miss it.
