If one has "working knowledge" then they are not seeking anything and no research would be conducted. The "working knowledge" didn't spring from "working knowledge".

I know what I know and I know what I do not know. Those are facts that I know about myself. Yes, they may be incorrect, they may also be correct. It takes knowledge to find that out, not belief.
