2+2 is counting up your sweeties.Nathan Poe said:listen to the facts, not the philosophies. "Hitler was an evolutionist" is such a tired and irrelevent cliche that serves no purpose except to cloud the facts.
If Hitler beleived in evolution, does that make evolution false?
If Hitler believed that 2+2=4, does that make mathematics false?
I don't understand why you think that accepting evolution necessarily means that Christianity is false, thereby destroying your belief in an afterlife and the other trappings of Christianity. The pope and millions of other Christians have no problems accepting evolution.icebreaker said:Ok take away the meaning of live question towards evolution and lets say the entire world agreed evolution to be unquestionable fact. If this was to happen I would find my life to be without meaning but I wanted to get an answer from an Evolutionists. That is why I used to analogy of the salmon. The Idea of Evolution is very difficult for me to comprehend and live with the idea that I just "exsist" It is easier for me to believe in Jesus than evolution and that is why evolution is hard to believe. And yes maybe this post should have been in the philosophy forum because it is more of an opinionated question
Hitler's misunderstanding of evolution was only surpassed in the political realm by Stalin's.lismore said:Hitler and evolution is a politcal philosophy and an evil one at that![]()

You seem to think that 'evolutionists' are some sort of philosophical/spiritual movement who all have the same beliefs. This is not true. Evolutionists can be from all religions and all philosophies. You're thinking that someone who thinks evolution is a sound scientific theory cannot be a christian. You are thinking wrong.icebreaker said:Ok take away the meaning of live question towards evolution and lets say the entire world agreed evolution to be unquestionable fact. Nope, but it does point out that there are people with another interpretation of the bible than yours. Your interpretation might be incorrect. It also points out that the purpose of life according to evolutionists might not be so different from yours, depending on who you speak to.icebreaker said:Just because the Pope or millions of so-called Christians say something is ok doesnt make it biblically correct or right but that is a completly different subject.
amazing..first of all the pope believes that what evolution says about man is not consistent with what many here preach...many millions more believe in the deity of Christ more than they believe in evolution..so why don't atheists address that?...bottom line is you want evolution accepted at whatever cost..kinda like dems saying vote for Kerry cause he aint Bush..power at any costGoSeminoles! said:I don't understand why you think that accepting evolution necessarily means that Christianity is false, thereby destroying your belief in an afterlife and the other trappings of Christianity. I'm an atheist and I find evolution to be exciting and wonderful. To think that in each of my cells contains an inheritance of genetic information stretching back billions of years is exhilarating. To know that I am biologically linked to the rest of the organic world, past and present, gives me a great appreciation for the world around me.
kinda like dems saying vote for Kerry cause he aint Bush..power at any cost
Why would an atheists try to address anybody's theological position? Evolution is a scientific theory, as such, the proper forum is the forum of scientific ideas. Which is typically the peer-reviewed literature.napajohn said:amazing..first of all the pope believes that what evolution says about man is not consistent with what many here preach...many millions more believe in the deity of Christ more than they believe in evolution..so why don't atheists address that?...bottom line is you want evolution accepted at whatever cost..kinda like dems saying vote for Kerry cause he aint Bush..power at any cost
ok ..i guess that throws the belief in Christ since it doesn't get peer reviewed..atheists always try to address Christian POV..wake up pal, they'll say anything to get their secular POV to be the official position..LOLOndoher said:Why would an atheists try to address anybody's theological position? It really doesn't have anything to do with religion.
What has any of that got to do with science?napajohn said:ok ..i guess that throws the belief in Christ since it doesn't get peer reviewed..atheists always try to address Christian POV..wake up pal, they'll say anything to get their secular POV to be the official position..LOL
There is a lot more "peer review" between christians than there is between atheists. It anything it is the "atheists" that need to police their ranks more.napajohn said:ok ..i guess that throws the belief in Christ since it doesn't get peer reviewed..atheists always try to address Christian POV..wake up pal, they'll say anything to get their secular POV to be the official position..LOL
Atheism doesn't have ranks. It is not an organization. There is no club. We pay no dues. We have no set of rules. There is no charter. Atheism is nothing more than the lack of theism.JohnR7 said:There is a lot more "peer review" between christians than there is between atheists. why do you post in a CHRISTIAN forum?..LOL..my faith in Christ surpasses my belief in mans understanding of how the world works..Ondoher said:What has any of that got to do with science?
the two are totally unrelated.napajohn said:my faith in Christ surpasses my belief in mans understanding of how the world works..
Because this is where the action is.napajohn said:why do you post in a CHRISTIAN forum?..LOL..my faith in Christ surpasses my belief in mans understanding of how the world works..
What an oxymoron. You have a situation where science claims to have raised itself to a standard of excellance, yet they still tolerate what is far to often a defunct theory of evolution.Ondoher said:My point was, evolution is not a political or a theological position, it is a scientific one.
