I think culture lags behind changes in technology.
Maybe, but technological changes aren't genetic either.

Personally, I'd lump technology in with culture.

I use a pick instead of a hammer drill at work. Technique can win over technology at times.

Can you explain further? Sounds interesting.

Not a part of the rules, so I will keep posting for Christianity, for scripture, for truth. You don't have to read them. :)

Sure post what you want. I'm just not sure what value repeating the "evolution is a lie of Satan" creationist cliche followed by some banal preaching is supposed to accomplish here. :/

I was directing my post to the OP, who identifies as Protestant. I certainly would not post that to you or the other non believers on here. Just because this is the secular area does not make everyone here an atheist or agnostic.

Fair enough. However, it is a public post on a public discussion board, so it is readily read by everyone here. Your audience isn't just the OP in that respect.

I work in soil testing, so that involves digging pits for sampling. With a little experience and elbow grease you can quickly break up the ground with a pick then shape the edges and take the sample with a shovel.

However, without experience you can you use a shovel blade on a hammer drill and quickly cut up the soil for. In my particular case I'm probably faster with a pick, (though on hot days in the sun I suspect I aught to just take the drill), but in general I suspect using the drill is more efficient.

Your re curve bow example is a good one from history. In experienced hands a bow is a better weapon than a crossbow or very early guns... but those two have the advantage of being much easier to train your soldiers how to use.

So why, in your view, is evolution a "lie of Satan" rather than just wrong? What does Satan get out of it besides discrediting the interpretation of Genesis favored by some minority Protestant sects? It doesn't seem worth the effort.

The same thing he gets out of convincing people the earth is round and orbits around the sun, I suppose.

Because it discredits the foundation of the Gospel.

The issue with creation vs evolution isn't really about how things came to be, even if on first glance that is what it appears to be about, no its about sin and how sin came to be.

The Gospel is not just that Jesus will take away sins. It also includes what is sin, how sin came to be, the affect that sin has and why we need to be saved from it.

The very first lie Satan told was "Did God really say" Satan will stop at nothing to make people believe they are not sinners in need of repentance. What better way then for them to believe that they are just highly evolved animals. Where does sin or the spirit fit within that view?

Except that isn't in the scriptures. No where does God say the world is flat. So that is simply a red herring. It doesn't matter what shape the world is it could be flat, round or like a potato. It's neither here nor there when it comes to the Gospel.

Indeed, but a literal interpretation of Genesis is not necessary to support the doctrine of Original Sin. Augustine of Hippo, who first formulated that doctrine, himself contemplated figurative interpretations of Genesis.

The very first lie Satan told was "Did God really say" Satan will stop at nothing to make people believe they are not sinners in need of repentance. What better way then for them to believe that they are just highly evolved animals. Where does sin or the spirit fit within that view?
Wherever God wishes it to. The theory of evolution only accounts for our mere physical bodies.

I was asking you where sin and the spirit fits in with evolution. God doesn't wish it or in anyway suggest evolution. He outlined that he created in 6 days.

If you're right about that, so much the worse for the gospel, because evolution is certainly true.

Your choice to believe whatever you want to believe.
But the matter of evolution vs sin is certainly why the church and belief in God have declined.
