Icon corner?

All very beautiful. I have two icon corners. One faces west (I pray facing east), and one facing north (I only do "emergency" prayers at this one) so I'm facing south to pray. I may combine the two some day if I can get enough room to do so.

Any pictures?

That's Saint Nicholas.

Currently, he's the largest icon in my icon corner. My mother and I live with Protestant relatives, and keep the icon corner in my room. We are moving soon, however, and will be able to have it in a more public place. We've got about four more icons on the way (St. Michael the Archangel, The Holy Apostles, The Mystical Supper, and an icon of our Angel Guardian).

The two paper icons are mine. The rest was given to my by a very generous friend.

I think your icon corner is nice and a very good start.
I started this thread because I wasn't sure how to put together an icon corner and although I still haven't done mine, I now have some really good ideas.

That's beautiful! Can I ask you a question about the crucifix? I've heard the Orthodox keep in their homes a 'blessing cross', but I'm not really sure what it is used for. I assume it is used when the priest blesses your house? I have only seen these at the Divine Liturgy.

To be honest I'm not sure. I am not officially Orthodox yet, so someone else would probably be better able to answer your question.

Time for you to get to work on it! Shall we have a race to see who can get theirs together first, me or you? You will have a distinct advantage being I still have to paint my icon corner/room.

I am going to spend tomorrow sanding the drywall paste and applying the second coat. The room won't be completely done until I redo the floors as well. There are pine floors in there, but I am going to make them look like they are hardwood. They should look really nice when I am done with them.

and I just recently bought some beautiful icons from Michael the Iconographer.

I have a stack of old Orthodox calendars and so any icons I want I laminate and mount myself. I also laminate and mount my own icons and will have my own icon site up and running in about a months time.

Hmm, that is interesting. I have lots of paper icons laying around. How does one go about laminating and mounting icons? Is it something I could do at home?
