You seem to be looking for a "villain" behind everything you don't like about society, a villain who has duped people into being "left."

1750035171372.png

Well, someone duped them into having such conflicting viewpoints.

I thought whoever made this meme was fairly creative, but I would've gone with something to the effect of an ironic
"No Kings! **unless there's a respiratory virus or someone says something I don't like on a podcast, in that case, govern me harder daddy"

Or, even better
"No Kings" they shouted, while proudly proclaiming they were going to boycott Trump's parade, and instead, watch the event in honor of the Pope (the only absolute Monarch in Europe)

It's pretty evident that the "No Kings" people aren't really opposed to the idea of a King, they often praise countries that still have them. They're perfectly content with authoritarianism that aligns with their viewpoints.

"Begging governmentto rule..." That is really a classic case of projection.

Do you actually care though? Or is this just you taking another opportunity to dump on the left? I'm pretty there's a term for this sort of judgy pseudo-paternalistic "advice," but it's escaping me.
Dross?

Really, are you familiar with that Economist/YouGov poll (and other polling) that happened amid Covid?

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Democratic voters would favor a government policy requiring that citizens remain confined to their homes at all times, except for emergencies, if they refuse to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

Nearly half (48%) of Democratic voters think federal and state governments should be able to fine individuals who publicly question the efficacy of the existing COVID-19 vaccines on social media, television, radio, or in online or digital publications.

Twenty-nine percent (29%) of Democratic voters would support temporarily removing parents’ custody of their children if parents refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine. That’s much more than twice the level of support in the rest of the electorate – seven percent (7%) of Republicans and 11% of unaffiliated voters – for such a policy.

If I were a gambling man, I would place a bet on there being a high degree of overlap between the "No Kings Protestors" and that 29% mentioned in the last statistic

It is understandable that some people hate Trump and protest. He is a bit of a jerk, and I am not happy with the way he is dealing with Ukraine. However, many of the things he is trying to do make sense. However, why would you protest deportations by waving the flags of the countries you might get deported to?

There are transgender people who are groomers. Mostly on the social media platforms. \
Ok.
Here is my point.
When you say they ARE groomers, by implication you say they are ALL groomers.

Now, staticially, it's MORE true that church youth pastors are groomers. by FAAAAAAAAAAAR.

And yet I would never ever EVER hear you call those people groomers.

When you BELIEVE they are all groomers and you don't qualify statements, of COURSE they are going to feel like a victim. You unjustly labelled them something that they are not. You spoke falsely against them and you told a mistruth about them.

Again, victimhood doesn't appear in a vaccuum.

No, that "who" is qualifying. "Men are rapists" - is that implying that all men are rapists? Ynmv.

Just like you can say
"there are cis-people who are groomers. Mostly on social platforms".
"there are cooks who are groomers. Mostly on social platforms".
"there are taxi drivers who are groomers. Mostly on social platforms".
"there are violin players who are groomers. Mostly on social platforms".

and so on.
Your statement is either meaningless or an attempt at smearing trans-people with just that little nuance to be able to deny the smear.

Lex rex! A government of laws and regulation is a functioning state.

"No Kings" does not say "no government" but rejects the current theory on unitary executive power. No rex lex!

But there are straight cis people who are ALSO groomers.

So why do trans "groomers" need to be singled out? Why not group them with the cis groomers?

Is the problem that they are "grooming" or is the problem that they are trans.......and grooming?

I have a problem with the grooming part since that is what is ACTUALLY harming someone else.

Your logic is correct. The problem is that we are programed to avoid danger for ourselves and family. We look at people and make a quick judgment on whether or not a person is a threat. We might be wrong, but it is better to error on the side of caution. I once stayed at a hotel full of bikers. Knowing that bikers are often violent in that part of town, I kept my distance and watched. These bikers were quite nice, and we drank beer together in a couple of days, but they made it clear that my caution was justified. They took no offense and warned me that not all bikers can be trusted. I wasn’t being bigoted. I was being careful. The probability of violent bikers was higher than the probability of a violin players being violent. I would not have felt the need for caution in a hotel full of violin players.

Lex rex! A government of laws and regulation is a functioning state.

"No Kings" does not say "no government" but rejects the current theory on unitary executive power. No rex lex!

So would you then agree that anyone at these no kings rallies waving a hammer and sickle flag is engaging in some self-conflicting ideology?

Given that what that symbol represents is a nod to systems that advocate for unitary party power, and in which the party chairman can intervene in any state function (executive, legislative, or judicial) and is not subject to any external checks and balances?

How about advocacy for concepts like court packing? (which is just a flimsy mechanism by which a party seeks to remove a check on the executive branch by padding the SCOTUS with friendly judges)

And of course, FDR (often regarded as a folk hero among some on the left) explicitly advocated for it.

I'm just not buying this spiel about how all of these progressives suddenly became libertarians overnight, after years of advocating for various sledgehammer approaches to ram through the things they wanted to get done.

I'll let rjs330 answer that. I just wanted to point out that rjs330 was not including all trans people.

In that PARTICULAR post, he was not because he put the qualifier in as pointed out by another poster.

Perhaps it's a kind of pedantry reserved for English teachers, or perhaps there is a subtler message but I rarely to NEVER see right wingers use qualifiers when they make broad sweeping comments about trans people.

To be clear, this happens all across the spectrum with folks and things they disagree with. I'm just point out it happens with this isseus as well.
