I was told by Father Thomas Hopko, but can't find it in writing.

Several years ago, I was told by Father Thomas Hopko, that The Gospels (specifically the Gopsel of Matthew) was distributed to many Church's with an icon of The Theotokos.

Have you ever seen this in writing... anywhere?

Forgive me...

I wonder if any of the writings concerning Saint Luke painting the first icon of the Theotokos would be the source (I don't know, I'm asking.)?

I heard something the other day from the Synaxarion... it was about that specific Saint... and he had taken Gospels and the Icon into some region... now I can't find even that.

They had left Antioch with them... (The home of St. Luke.)

Forgive me...
