Father God, please help me give this person advice and encouragement in their time of "bad crops". Amen.

There is a season for harvest, a season for planting, and a season for bad crops. Just keep praying and fighting. God will provide all your needs if you believe in him. One day, you WILL see a break through. Amen.

Last but not least, "plant" the best "seeds" possible. Do something today that will be harvested tomorrow.

Amen. We also pray that God will lead you into jobs where your skills are used to their best advantage.

I have found some really helpful videos that walk people through prayers like this. Type in "curses prayer." or "spiritual warfare verses."

We are called to build each other up in the faith, and bring healing and restoration -- so don't be afraid to ask friends to pray with you too! (Not just for you, but with you.)

Over recent times it's like everything I do is met with resistance,and everything I try including jobs I shortly fail at. What's going on??

It could be. I had a similar situation years ago where I couldn't find a job for over 4 years until I started paying my tithes and offerings.

the devil is using his influence over people to try to convince you that God hasn't blessed you as He has promised in His word; he wants you to change your foundation of belief from God's unchanging and faithful word to circumstances and experience. if you yield to his deception and shift your foundation of belief to circumstances and experience, the devil's next move will be to back off to produce more positive circumstances and experience that will seem to validate his lie that God is reacting to your performance rather than you reacting to His unchanging word. when you have to pay for grace, then you are your own savior.

2Co 4:16-18
(16) For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
(17) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
(18) While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Eph 6:12-17
(12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
(14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
(15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
(16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
(17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Without more specific details about what's happening, it's impossible for us to really say if we think what the cause is.

Life is hard. Life is a series of ups and downs. And some of the down times can seem like everything is happening at once and you just can't catch a break. It doesn't mean that you're cursed or that the world is ending. Sometimes, it's just life. Learning to take things in stride, trust God, and keep truckin' is part of it.

if you never bump into the devil, it's because your going the same way that he is :)

so trials and hardships are often an indication that you're moving in the right direction, spiritually speaking - the devil is pulling out all the stops to discourage you.

remember that God isn't the one who brings temptations (James 1:13, 14); He knows what you will do -it's the devil that isn't sure.

first of all, make your words about yourself agree with what God says about you as a reborn believer; that you are blessed, you triumph through Jesus, you overcome what raises itself against you. here's something i say when it seems that things aren't going good for me:

"i'm blessed and highly favored, and not moved by my circumstances; i'm moved only by the word of God, and He says that i am prosperous, and an overcomer. even if it looks like i'm discouraged on the outside, on the inside i stand in faith and believe to see the goodness of God in the land of the living."

next, seek God's leading in everything, no matter how trivial it mat seem to you. if you have a choice between a pepsi and a coke, ask God which to choose (He would know if one has a piece of glass in it) - this will keep you in fellowship with Him and your 'inner ear' tuned to hear His still, small voice above the roar of the world.

in order to recognize His leading, make it a priority to learn about His character and will by studying His word; as He will never lead you contrary to His word.

remember that David ran from Saul for 13 years after he was anointed King in Saul's place before he actually became king; and that when it looked like he had lost everything and would never see the throne, he encouraged himself in the Lord his God (1Sam 30:1-6).

and remember what 'light afflictions' Paul went through, and how he overcame all; finishing his ministry in spite of all the resistance - and how God has honored him in His word because of his faithfulness to follow His leading:

2Co 11:25-27
(25) Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;
(26) In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
(27) In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

2Co 4:13-18
(13) We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
(14) Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
(15) For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
(16) For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
(17) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
(18) While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

*You aren't cursed...you are a Christian who is blessed with every heavenly
blessing (via Christ.)

In this life you will endure trials and tribulations, Jesus and the apostles
faced that a lot.... we, Christians can expect no less.

When I was in still living in NC, I went through several years of being
out of regular employment but I wasn't without a job or jobs. I did all
types of work-- I babysat, took care of sick people, ran errands, washed
dishes, cleaned houses, worked in a stable, yard work/gardening etc.

Continue being faithful to the Lord and His Word, be diligent in prayer and
walk humbly with God.
Does your church know you are in need?
Are they helping you in this matter?
How are your brothers in Christ ministering to you?

It is possible that someone put a curse on you. It's always a good idea to pray to break curses that may have been put on you. You never know if someone has it in for you. Even a person who talks bad about you may forward negative energies toward you. Or, a person with a strong Jezebel spirit may unwittingly send a curse your way as if he/she were actually a witch. Interestingly, I just did a brief prayer of this sort over myself this morning, which I hadn't done for a long time, and find it rather coincidental.

Other possibilities may include having abominations in your home, etc. Like another poster said, there are many possibilities that only you may know the answer to.

It's not just jobs,it's like we're plagued mostly with financial problems which lead to other things...problems with where we live,place is falling apart and we also need work done on the place...

I'm thinking this looks the most like what it may be...like I said it's like every step is plagued with something. But if we're supposed to have the armour of God,how can this happen?

It's important to stay positive. I think we go through seasons. Life is full of ups and downs. Even long term downs. But we also have the power to choose to do something about our situation, to change it. I was wondering are you familiar with Dave Ramsey? I would check out his financial advice. Dani Johnson is also great. She was a homeless and became a millionaire. A very wise woman.

Overall it seems I've got more downs than ups...yes I'm familiar with Dave Ramsey,I tend to favor Suze Orman a bit more; Btw homeless people becoming millionaires is quite rare:)

Watch out with your words, they can work as a curse. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Lately I made a threat, because I was experiencing a bit the same and was frustrated, with: 'everything just breaks' and no kidding after that my bike broke, my washing machine. And not before I said it, it was just a lot of problems I was facing. One guy said: I want you to stop saying that and I thought: oh yes, you're right, I renounce those words. Nothing breaks. It really works, check it out, speak blessing over your life.
Replace it with: I'm blessed, although you don't see it yet.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ

Yes, amen. I am learning this myself. Words are so powerful.

This reminds me, OP, there is this book I highly recommend. It changed my life and I think you would be so blessed by it. It's called "Rich Habits" by Thomas C. Corley. A small and easy to read book. It will change your life. :)

It could be a curse which you have to break from your ancestry or something, but you have to ask God if that's the case and then you can break it, but it can also be that God allows certain crisis to get you out of it better, which is the case with me now. It's really unbelieveable all the things that happened this last year, but He's getting me out of these circumstances. Just give the circumstances to Him and ask Him to reign in it.
