  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dear Aibrean

Its TERRIBLE that your mom got cancer.
That is NO blessing - is it?

And Praise the LORD, for miracles too! I am with you on that!

But something greater than miracles is living under the blessing.

And that is what I am showing you, is available in JESUS.

GOD is not out cursing anyone, and like you correctly said
JESUS was cursed for us, so that we can inherit the blessing

(here is the following verse)

He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
Galatians 3:14

But we fall under the curse, by our attempted submitting to the law, and trying to keep the law and teaching others to do so - read again Galatians.

If you try to keep ANY part of the law, you are required to keep ALL of it.
If you FAIL to keep ALL of it, you are put under the curse. Galatians 3:10

You are also cursed if you don't love JESUS.

If anyone does not love the Lord--a curse be on him. 1 Corinthians 16:22

There are all kinds of laws we've been fed by the institutional church that we
try to keep, and when we do that, we are leaving GRACE and following the law.

Its really that simple.

Tithing, Sabath Keeping, Hundreds of Denominational Rules, these are just some of the many things 'we try to keep' as 'good christians', that as Paul said 'cut us off from grace'.

Paul's trouble was 'circumcision', they wanted to 'add' circumcision to the GOSPEL.
You can't add a single thing to what's been done - if you do, then you are falling from GRACE (on your own) and putting yourself under the curse of the law.

Ask the LORD to teach you.

Or instead wonder all your life, why all kinds of bad things continue to happen.

Its not wrong to ask the question, 'am I cursed' - that was the question wasn't it?

-eric

Paul had false Apostles going to the churches he had started and they were preaching that the only way to heaven was by obeying the law of Moses. Paul wrote this letter to try and keep the church from wandering from the faith and entering into the covenant of the law and coming under its rules and curses.

Now, the key to being under the curses of the law is that you must first enter into that covenant by being circumcised and following all the rules it contained. If you didn't then you would come under its curses.

So, unless a person submits himself to the law and gets circumcised, and sacrifices the proper animal for his sins then he isn't under the law. And even if he had mistakenly turned to the law he could always go to the Lord and repent and be forgiven of it.

Also this Scripture:

1 Corinthians 16:22 (King James Version)

22) If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

simple means that if any man doesn't love the Lord, let him be left behind when the Lord returns.

Paul said pretty much the same thing at the beginning of his Letter:

Galatians 1:7-9 (Amplified Bible)

7) Not that there is [or could be] any other [genuine Gospel], but there are [obviously] some who are troubling and disturbing and bewildering you [with a different kind of teaching which they offer as a gospel] and want to pervert and distort the Gospel of Christ (the Messiah) [into something which it absolutely is not].

8) But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to and different from that which we preached to you, let him be accursed (anathema, devoted to destruction, doomed to eternal punishment)!

9) As we said before, so I now say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel different from or contrary to that which you received [from us], let him be accursed (anathema, devoted to destruction, doomed to eternal punishment)!

And about the story of Job. When we study it we must remember that Job wasn't a born again Christian and still belonged to satan even though he served and worshiped God. If he had been "in Christ" satan would not have any right to accuse Job of anything.

Romans 8:33-34 (Amplified Bible)

33) Who shall bring any charge against God's elect [when it is] God Who justifies [that is, Who puts us in right relation to Himself? Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen? Will God, Who acquits us?]

34) Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us?

Blessings,

Alan

Some of these things are done so that the glory of God can be revealed in the end. The best you can do is to stay in Him and not lose hope. While you are in Christ you will get no condemnation. I'm also sorry that you are being judged and made responsible for all these bad things that have happened to your family. Of course you are not perfect or blameless like Job was. None of us are. But you are not to blame in any way for these things and God is not punishing you. It's the thief who comes only to destroy.
See plmarquette's advice about the tax situation. Perhaps invest in a tax consultant to help you set your tax records straight. The investment would be worth it if it saves you the claim.

The best we can do is to pray for you that you will find comfort and for your restoration. I already suspect that you are strong enough to not be discouraged by accusations and being told that it's all your fault. Just increase your hope in Him and wait on Him to reveal His purpose in the end.

Now, the key to being under the curses of the law is that you must first enter into that covenant by being circumcised and following all the rules it contained. If you didn't then you would come under its curses.

We are all naturally born into the old covenant, of works and effort.
You don't enter it, we are all partakers!

So, unless a person submits himself to the law and gets circumcised, and sacrifices the proper animal for his sins then he isn't under the law. And even if he had mistakenly turned to the law he could always go to the Lord and repent and be forgiven of it.

You don't submit yourself to the law, you naturally by your own effort
try to be good, try to follow the 'commands of GOD'.
That produces works of the flesh.

Yes, of course we can leave all the 'works' and 'effort' behind and take
JESUS only and receive forgiveness - sure, and get under the blessings!

Also this Scripture:

1 Corinthians 16:22 (King James Version)

22) If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

simple means that if any man doesn't love the Lord, let him be left behind when the Lord returns.

Anathema is cursed/destroyed. To the Jews, they new (because of all the wilderness experience) that curses & blessings
are in this life. You experience these things here.

Even the Jews (orthodox) to this very day know that.

Lastly the word Anathema doesn't mean left behind again it is cursed.
Maranatha means "LORD COME".

9) As we said before, so I now say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel different from or contrary to that which you received [from us], let him be accursed (anathema, devoted to destruction, doomed to eternal punishment)!

This is great scripture out of Galatians 1.
If you add anything to JESUS, you are putting yourself under the law.
The law is good, but not good enough to save us.
Only JESUS can. And we need to be saved from the lie
that we have to 'work & strive' to do the things christians are supposed
to do.

When the Scripture tells us to 'rest and abide' and GOD by HIS SPIRIT
will do the work through you. The Gospel is this - die so that you can live.

Blessings,

Alan

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. Revelation 12:10

I think satan still accuses us, and gives us false guilt even to this day.
The charges don't stand, we are 'Washed Clean' by our LORD, but until
the devil is finally thrown down, he still tries - we all hear it (inside).

Merry Christmas to all brothers and sisters here!

We are not all born under the Law. The Law was a covenant between God and Israel, and not between God and the world. The gentile people were never a part of it and wasn't ever subject to its curses:

Ephesians 2:11-12 (Amplified Bible)

11) Therefore, remember that at one time you were Gentiles (heathens) in the flesh, called Uncircumcision by those who called themselves Circumcision, [itself a mere mark] in the flesh made by human hands.

12) [Remember] that you were at that time separated (living apart) from Christ [excluded from all part in Him], utterly estranged and outlawed from the rights of Israel as a nation, and strangers with no share in the sacred compacts of the [Messianic] promise [with no knowledge of or right in God's agreements, His covenants]. And you had no hope (no promise); you were in the world without God.

And, you are right about satan accusing us all the time. But he accuses us to ourselves in an attempt to make us doubt the word of God that says we have been made Priests and Kings unto our God and are pure and holy and righteous before Him. When Christians really understand and believe the gospel then satan's accusations will become meaningless. However, if we continue to believe that the devil has any power at all to do his will over us at any time then we have diminished the power of the Gospel, and of God, by believing satan's lies over God's truth.

Blessings,

Alan

For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them Romans 2:14-15

Even bikers and murderers and the worst, have the law (conscience) bearing witness
either accusing or defending. Then when they can't even keep their own laws,
even though they try, like every religion does (even the Christian Religion), they
fail and put themselves under the curse.

Only in JESUS, is the curse removed.

And when we are in HIM, so the blessing comes. Galatians 3:14

The scary part for many in christianity, is that they are cursed, for trying
to keep all their church rules/ laws (denominational, or traditional).
This effort, (of us trying) puts us away from CHRIST, which is only, always,
HE must increase, I must decrease. John 3:30

When you throw out all the trying, and die to self, die to your religion
and 'give up' at HIS feet, and receive GRACE, you are put by faith
in HIS GRACE alone, in abundant blessings.

Dear fields316 2000. I do not think you are cursed, but I believe that life is treating you harshly. You say that you ask and implore God for help, and you see no change. I say this with love, fields, all sadness will sooner, or later become more easily to bear. Keep asking and trusting God, and take one day at a time. Keep asking God for some stepping-stones out of the sad mess you are going through, and I know that things will become more easy to manage. Your message is over a week old, and perhaps you can see a light at the end of the tunnel you are in. I, too will pray for you and your children. There are always those three truths which help us to cope: God knows, God can, and God will. Don`t give up, fields, and know that God loves you. Greetings and God`s Blessings to you and your children. Emmy, your sister in Christ.

Friend,

I'm sorry for your pain. And though my circumstance was not the same as yours, I have so been there, feeling like everything is lost. You are not cursed. "There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." But you are going through some big trials. The good news: they won't last forever.

Please remember the Bible says "It rains on the just and the unjust." Trials happen no matter what. And sometimes they all happen at once. I know it's hard and you can feel like something is wrong. But remember how many times the God remeinds us in HIs Word, to count it not strange when various trials happen, and Peter says, "for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various tirials, that the genuineness of your fiath, being moore precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ..." 1 Pet 1:7

I love that God has Peter remind us that each trial has an end. It's so easy to think that they will be forever. But I also love that he reminds us that they are for a reason. Trials grow our faith. We get to see God come through when all seems lost.

Here Peter tells us again, "The God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, will perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you."

God knows what you are going through and it will not be wasted. It will end and you will come out the better for it. That's just the way God is.

Here's a great encouraging video that speaks to your situation. Please watch. I think it will help you. here's the link: Videos | Gateway Church

praying for you,
a

Don't loose faith, remember the story of Job where he lost his wealth, kids, fortune, possesions, good health and his stocks but he never lost faith in God because he was going through a test. The christian life is not a easy walk but you have to stay strong.

Keep praying, keep going to church and keep worshiping God through your hard times because it will get better just have faith.
