Had to look it up myself , seems they do all sorts of things with them. Collect , paint , create things , it's well worth a look....

Well, the painted version is very much an 'improvement' ...
but I still don't think I'll start collecting these! lol

How did we even survive....in our own backyards? No helmets and crash pads. What were we thinking.

Found on FB and had to post it here. I remember that particular swing it was very popular , I haven't seen one like it today in any park anywhere. It was not even around in my kids time. Ahh the memories!

I also remember the Wacky Package craze.

I still have a stack of pristine Wacky Packages about 4 inches high. I'm told they might be worth a little. I need to look into it.

And then, I learned that the original owners of LRB no longer own the name of the group! What a complicated, and very sad story, is all of that!

Interesting trivia: The '70's band Bachman Turner Overdrive still performs to this day as Bachman Turner Overdrive, however not a single original member is in the band. It's like with that ancient Greek paradox Ship of Theseus. If you replace all the original parts, is it still Bachman Turner Overdrive?

I know. Kids today have those padded surfaces and stuff made of plastic. Back then playgrounds were all concrete, steel and wood.

A friend of mine brought a pair of these to school and told everybody he could see through their clothes. The girls ran away but the boys wanted to look to see if they really worked.

He charged them 20 cents each to look and made a few dollars for himself that day...lol

When we used to collect coke bottles and get, 5 cents for a small and a dime for a large bottle, at the grocery store.

Didn't pay that much in my day/state.
All were $.02 except Sundrop which paid $.04.

Does the BTO band today sound the same as the original band of the 70's?
(Have they been able to duplicate the sound?)

That is what I find is different about the 'new' LRB.
Without the original members, they do not sound the same.
(Today's LRB sounds to me more like a 'tribute' band singing LRB songs, than the real thing.)

I remember learning about Marie Curie and I was astounded by her story, and how all of the kids who ordered those x-ray glasses

got duped for their money and how many girls were scared of the boys running around "seeing through" their clothes ( I was one of them), LOL!

I actually fell for it

But being a little kid, I had no idea that an x ray could see only bones

I was scared the boys could see my underwear!

Can you just imagine the innocence. I was scared they would see my ruffles and ribbons.
