Prayer is spiritual not scientific. Anyway if you are praying to an actual living God, maybe the answer to the prayer is "No"?

Often people ask for things that aren't in their best interests or even things that are wrong. We can't see things the way God does.

I am under 18 and as of now a athiest.

I have one question that I need answered, why doesn't prayer work when under scientific conditions?

Perhaps because the Master and Creator of the Universe is not a 12th grade science experiment to be mastered.

If our "science" could master God would he truly be God?

Not everything can be proved by the scientific method-for example can you prove your great great great grand father existed using this method? Also, God answers prayer on his perfect and sovern timing-not under the whims of men.

Maybe read this for proof-if you want it:

I suggest he research the credibility of the bible concerning overwhelming evidence which is very high even though it’s a spiritual decision first.
Visit: www.TheBibleProofBook.com, (you will need acrobat reader for this), read The Evidence That Demands A Verdict by Josh McDowell a former agnostic- (its overwhelming circumstantial evidence of bible) and Examine the Evidence by Muncaster a former athiest/The Case for Christ and The Real Jesus by Lee Strobel a former athiest. Visit the website Reasonable Faith-Bill Craig is a great debater and started this site, in fact Richard Dawkins the famous athiest is afraid to debate him. You have to register but its worth it if your interested.

God decided that He would be impossible to prove or disprove, scientifically. He chose to reveal Himself by His Word, not by His Presence. If He appeared, all would bow to Him, due to His Greatness. Many would be there on their face because they would want to flatter Him with their worship, to try to gain His Power. Many would be there only because they are frightened of Him. God doesn't want to rule by fear. He chose to give His Power to those who prove their love for Him by hardship. When those who come to Him do so because of His Love, in spite of what they see with their eyes, their love for God is proven. He wants to prove their love for Him to them and then to the world, so that the whole world might see His Love, demonstrated through His Son, and come to Him in repentance.

Scientific experiments have a limited time span. God gives one of 3 answers to prayer - yes, no and later. If God's later falls outside the parameters of the experiment's time span than the prayer will be deemed to be unanswered.

God is not a cosmic Jeeves at our beck and call to give us what we want when we want it. He works in his own time for our good.

You have to think about this:

If science proved “Pray Works” than you would have scientific evidence for God and would not have to believe (have faith) in God’s existence. Replacing “faith” with knowledge is terrible for helping man fulfill man’s earthly objective. Knowledge actually puffs man up, increases his ego, makes him even more self reliant and proud of what he “knows” and figured out.

God helps man by creating an alternative to His existence, although it takes greater faith to believe God does not exist it does take faith to believe He does exist. You still have to trust (have faith) in the existence of a creator.

If you are dead set against believing in God, God does not want to burden you with His presents. God is not trying to get you to worship Him out of knowledge of Him, but He is trying to give you a gift and get you to accept that gift as it was given or the transaction does not take place.

If you really want to believe in a forgiving Loving God, He is obviously all around you, but you will have to believe (have faith).
Do you want to know why you need faith?

Why can't someone answer me? If god exists and prayer actually does something. Why can't you just answer the question.
I believed for a long time that prayers are a nice notion, however at the end of the day it is the will of God which He honors and if it is His will to honor a human prayer then someone has surely been blessed. God is never under obligation to answer a prayer or perform a miracle in response to prayer, simply because of His omnipotence and the enormous level of respect He has from His people that we are 100% behind Him when He decides whether to involve in earthly matters or not. Most of the time I think He likes to keep His hands clean since we humans make such a mess it is only reasonable that we will take some responsibility to clean it up don't you think?

Also your question suggests that science is at war with God and it is interesting you would suggest that. It is exactly how I see the sales pitch of science as being "anti-God". It doesn't have to be that way, it could just as easily be presented "pro-God" but because all of us are born into sin in a world where everyone else is born into sin and by default we don't know God, the purely natural human nature does choose to fight against the concepts that God has given us, in order to feel that we have each no reason to blame. These people are suppressing and persecuting God because they have misunderstood the primary human objective is to conquer the evil of the world and get real about God that our lives may grow into eternal glory fit for a place in the everlasting family of Christ.

So yes, science is on a mission to disprove God and in doing so, to take on the role of God in society to answer all our questions and fulfill our needs for a God to worship (for those who can't surrender their sins). In prophecy this eventual godless world-wide government will be known as the beast who came from Hell to attempt to rule earth as though they were God, but the system fails and Jesus' return brings a new age of peace where the whole earth is full of the knowledge of God "as the waters cover the sea".

The mission of the current scientific movement is coming directly against the God's desire which is to have a society regulated by free will and Godly love, which comes from being submissive to the conscience and getting to know God's love that we may share it with those around us. None of this will be available to those who ascribe to the government of the beast, they will be educated that some sins are ok and it all goes downhill until they've got them so brainwashed they can never repent. This is how serious the prophecy is that no-one should take the mark of the beast for it is a doom to destruction in Hell. There has been plenty of warning already for this.

In our current stage of evolution the human is not capable of being content with God without being reborn of the spirit, although He has been there sharing His testimony and hope with the faithful ever since Abraham trusted God.
