People told me for a lot of my life (especially my youth) that I was "smart" or "would achieve" something or something along those lines. Certainly that hasn't been the case. If my wife and friends forgot me and I died, zero people would remember me in any way.

And that seems totally fine. I see people my age who are very into leaving a "legacy" by writing a book or something. I don't understand it.

I just want to live my family life as well as I can. Be as skillful as I can in being with the people who know me personally. Use my strength and talents (such as they are...) in that realm only.

Does this sound reasonable? Insane? Deluded?

Sounds acceptable to God to me.
My life is very much the same. Being as invisable as possible while focusing on God. Not everyone needs to be a Someone.

Well, it's too late for that. You're very, very special to God.

And who knows what you'll do in life. You might invent something or better, save a soul by helping them come to Christ.

Oh ... I think you're special. You keep praying, and I'll pray for you.

All good things

You don't want to be famous anyway. Keeping fame is a sacrifice. You literally sacrifice some of your liberties by being famous, one of the that is very very important is privacy. Privacy is gold, no need to explain!

Perhaps, the only "advantage" of being famous is less financial pressures since, it's easier to make money if you're famous.

I'd say you're already special in that you have a family and are raising them to be godly people in society.

higher education is one of the biggest pyramid schemes going right now.

spend years racking up copious amounts of loan debt to get a fancy piece of paper that guarantees you nothing in terms of a career. some of the most successful people in the world never got a college degree.
