I know my brothers and sisters in Christ. This is a love you don't know. So yes, being an atheist has everything to do with this philosophy of yours. My philosophy would NEVER allow me to take someone who is obviously hurting in the Faith (or anything else) and tell them that their life was a mess first and they just missed that part, so really their efforts were in vain. Fortunately my Sister here still has enough conviction to shake that off, but its a pretty hearltess thing for you to do.

On the other hand I would tell her that she walked out of God's protection and felt that, yet He is still within reach. So this is evidence for what you say does not exist, and further, she has already stated that her own experience validates what I'm saying, rather than your creed.

Aaaaand that's a wrap :holy:

 except there is no atheist philosophy really, the only thing all atheists share is a lack of belief in deities. Nothing else, we don't have shared customs, or habits. We don't all look at life in the same way, to group all atheists together in any way is absolute folly.

Btw, rather than praying for people, or ushering them to a church, I try to actually fix their problems directly. I give advice, help out if I can, and no promise of a good afterlife or reward motivates me.

You could get hit by a bus tomorrow and your "sister" there probably wouldn't even notice you weren't posting here anymore...

But that moment of compassion you felt when you read her post...that was something so real, so true, so pure...it must've lasted for a second? Maybe two?

Just long enough to inspire resentment at my coldhearted reply and drive you to take a couple jabs at me and atheism. It's funny how that compassion probably lasted but a moment...but the hatred towards me has kept you posting all day long.

Aaaaand that's a wrap! :preach:

 except there is no atheist philosophy really,

All the things you're trying to say here go without say, but what you're missing is that there ARE certain things you have in common: no communion of the Saints, no fellowship of the Spirit, virtually none of the things we as Christians depend on. The differences are real, and ana's post makes that crystal clear.
