There's balance. I imagine that being OCD or having anxiety doesn't necessarily mean that a faith related question is related to the mental illness.

My son has OCD. It compels him to worry about minutia and, ultimately, takes his eyes off of Jesus.
Without OCD, one might receive wise advice, apply it and get a sense of resolution.
With OCD --if the answer is satisfactory at all-- the person is just driven to the next question on their laundry list of anxieties, never finding that sense of peace they were seeking. It is better to set aside their possible ("leaf" problem) errors and concentrate on the "root" problem. Then, they can deal with any leaf problems might remain unresolved.

How does one dress according to God's will?

Are there certain fabric types, or clothing styles that God has decreed good, and some He has decreed wrong?

As a man, am I allowed to wear bifurcated leg coverings--usually known as trousers? Are trousers permitted for men to wear? And how would you know?

This I tend to agree with. As do most theologians. It isn't hair so much as it is looking like your gender. If you look feminine with long hair? It's too long. If you're a woman who looks masculine, your hair is too short. That seems to be what I'm thinking is the idea of this verse.

At its root (no pun intended) short hair is man's way of representing God...who was in no wise feminine.
Long hair is a woman's protection, and her glory.
Men who have long hair have abdicated their representation of God, and opted for the glory given a woman.

Seems to me that if he wanted to look like a woman, he'd shave off that beard and mustache.
