I am effeminate

My mannerism is very girly. But I don't wear female clothing. As I have said before, I have gay desires. But I refuse that lifestyle because I know God hates it. But I am still effeminate. The Bible says that the effeminate will not inherit the kingdom of God. This terriffies me. I can't make myself be manly. The way I carry myself, the way I sit, the way I talk is very feminate. When I call a phone company or any of business, they always call me mam. Am I not going to inherit the kingdom of God?

May I ask what version you are reading and which verse you are referring to? I simply find it hard to believe the bible refers to a man's femininity at all.

The thing is, who's to say Jesus would even consider you more or less "feminine" than anybody else in the first century. This is a time where almost everybody wore robes, wearing eyeliner and perfume was common, everybody had long hair, and men kissed each other in greeting all the time. It wasn't a "gay" thing, it was just the way things were.

I'll tell you, I was an artist before I was Christian, and when I was a just new born-again baby some people told me that drawing people was a sin, because anything we did was an "imperfect creation" or some load like that. I know, that sounds ridiculous! Right? But I was really conflicted about it for a long time.

Then I realized that God wants us to be who He created us to be. He has a perfect plan for each and every one of us and we can't live up to our true potential until we accept God's definition of us, and not man's.

As for the gay thing, that's between you and God. I'm not going to tell you it's good or bad, but I can tell you that nobody has tried to take away my rights because I painted a rose. I will tell you, if and when real love comes along, pray hard about it and remember that God's grace is for everybody.

The Bible says that the effeminate will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Well, no, the Bible doesn't say that, actually.

You are probably referring to 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, which the NIV translates more accurately as "Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." --with a footnote reading "The words 'men who have sex with men' translate two Greek words that refer to the passive and active participants in homosexual acts."

It's helpful to remember that 1 Corinthians is written to address questions & concerns regarding a specific congregation. I don't think being a "feminine" man is inherently a sinful disposition. Further, what constitutes "feminine" or "masculine" is subjective & cultural anyway.

None of us on our own merits can "earn" the Kingdom, but Christ Himself bore our sins & defeated death for us. It is by grace that any of us are forgiven & promised new life, now & in the age to come. Trust in Him.

If I have to keep repeating myself I will gladly do it...God loves you. I bet he's sad that you're in so much turmoil. Not to mention the condemnation from the enemy.

You're not going to hell. I would bet my cat on that. Hoping soon you will begin to see how much God loves you. PM whenever, or not.

My mannerism is very girly.

If you know it is "girly" why do adopt this sort of manner? You aren't a girl, so don't act like one.

But I don't wear female clothing.

I should hope not!

As I have said before, I have gay desires. But I refuse that lifestyle because I know God hates it. But I am still effeminate.

Being a man isn't defined by anyone but Christ who was the perfect man. If you want to be a real man, be like him. He wasn't some cursing, spitting, chest-thumping neanderthal, but he certainly wasn't "girly" either.

The Bible says that the effeminate will not inherit the kingdom of God. This terriffies me. I can't make myself be manly. The way I carry myself, the way I sit, the way I talk is very feminate.

You can change all of these things. You weren't born to sit in a womanly way, or to carry yourself with a feminine air. You don't, though, have to be unnaturally macho, either. Again, pattern yourself after the person of Christ. He wasn't a man because he could beat every other guy in an arm-wrestle, or had muscles bulging out all over, or was a real player with the ladies. Those things don't make you a man. Study Christ in the Gospels. Study all of what Scripture has to say about him. And then seek to be like him.

When I call a phone company or any of business, they always call me mam. Am I not going to inherit the kingdom of God?

God won't keep you out of heaven because you sound feminine. The only reason you don't get into heaven is because you haven't believed upon Christ as your Saviour and submitted your life to him. The tone of your voice or the manner of your walk has nothing to do with your salvation.

Selah.

Gay desires are sinful and you can choose to turn away from sin
and with God's help you can overcome sin.

You identify yourself with your sin instead of with Christ and His
power that can change you and cause you to hate sin and love Him.

Here is my confession:
I am a son of God.
I am in Christ.
I have God's love, favor, grace and mercy.
I can go directly to God in Christ and find help to overcome sin.
I am surrendered to God in Christ of my own free will.

God is my Father and I desire His will to be done in my life no matter
what the cost or how painful it may be as I invite Him to have His way in my life.

God can change me anyway He wants as I have given Him
this authority to do whatever it takes, out of my own free will.

God's will is that I become like Jesus.

May God's will be done.

I do not identify myself with my weakness, I identify myself
with God almighty, His will, His plans and His desire to transform
me into the image and likeness of Christ.

I do not identify, receive or declare that I am or will be anything that
God declares is wrong or sinful, instead I declare that God is able
to make me, mold me and shape me anyway He wants to if I will
surrender all my sin and failures to Him and invite Him to have His way
in my life.

You are defeated because you identify yourself with the problems
and deny God the right to be your source and the solution to all
that is sin and wrong in your life.

Look at the disciples.

They were ignorant and fearful of the opinions of others.
They had no confidence or abilities in their own strength.

When Christ was done with them they were bold, fearless, manly,
faithful, dedicated, empowered and full of Godly wisdom and
power in the Holy Spirit.

You too can be changed by your surrender to God in Christ.

Identify yourself with God's word concerning you instead of what
the devil has place in your heart as you confess that you are
the very sin that God has said He can deliver you from.

Identify and confess that you are a son of God in Christ.

Identify and confess that you are righteous in Christ.

Declare to God that you want His will in your life no matter the cost
as you surrender all to Him including your sinful desires, fallen nature and
even your very will to Him.

God can do anything if you will let Him.

Have a little faith.

Ask God to make you into the man He wants you to be and He will.

Hope this helps....

Wow. Very blunt. I wish it was that easy for me. I have been that way since I was very little.

Stop looking at you and look at the Savior. He is the one with whom your salvation lies. Fear not :)

From a medical stance,
Go to a doctor and get your testosterone levels checked and if needed
take testosterone suppliments.

Testosterone will cause your voice will deepen, will add muscle mass,
your facial hair will thicken and you will feel more like a man.

Look at Chaz Bono if you don't believe me... Lol

Isn't it God's will for me to obey his laws and believe in his son? Well, I did have a problem with lust. But recently gave up porn, which was str8 porn. I understand God wants me to obey him and not lust. But having strong gay desires is still sin? So just not acting on it isn't enough? Wow God has a lot of strict rules. It seems like I will never be good enough to avoid hell.

Please don't buy any OTC medications such as testosterone without medical advice. People here aren't supposed to give medical advice so that alone is inappropriate. If anything, see your doctor, but low testosterone is generally not linked to same sex attraction.

So you obey God outwardly but you are unwilling for
Him to change your lust for men into unselfish love
because you are unwilling to give up your homosexuality to God.

If you trully want to please God in your heart more than in outward appearances,
you would be asking God to cause you to hate your sin
and you would give Him permission to do whatever it takes, even unto
the death of your old sinful nature, to destroy this stronghold in your life.

Let me this clear. I don't want gay desires. It is a curse. But my fear is what if it doesn't go away. I also don't want to love a woman. Gross

You don't have to do anything. Please don't ever feel forced to date a woman.

Having desire is not sin.

You are good enough.

What does he say? My yoke is light and my burden is easy. Remember that.

We are to be transformed and conformed into the full measure
and stature of Jesus Christ. This is God's word to us as believers.

Does Jesus lust after men sexually...NO

We are not talking about salvation, we are talking about living
our lives for God in Christ and growing more like Christ each
and every day.

If this causes us pain and suffering, it is only because we fight against
God's will as we refuse to allow Him to bring about the transformation He desires.

To say that we should be content to remain in our sin as we
are already saved, is to pervert God's plan for our lives
as His represenatives to those who need to see Christ in us.

This forum is for giving Godly advice, not our own best practices.
