That is funnyI suspected as much.(See how aware I yam.)
That is funnythe way you said/wrote that. As the OP wrote though, most humans do not know that they are asleep, or dead. That is because from birth people are shaped/programed by their environment and culture.
You know very few people are actually self-aware, meaning they are not only aware but they also recognize they have a specific purpose. I am not talking about a delusion, or delusion of grandeur... I am talking about providence from the Most High. So, just make sure not to waste your words if you know you are self-aware, because we have already been told that the vast majority of us will never be aware, let alone self aware.

Is being aware or self aware just another term for "woke"?
In the Bible, Jesus called those where not self aware, "dead" like those hung up on worldly traditions.
In other passages, those where not self-aware were called "animals" as they are only operating upon "animalistic instincts" (acting based on fear and reward)
Jesus taught chock full about it.
Strong self-preservation instincts and love of money is a dead give away of those who lack self-awareness.
It's rather pointless telling these people their problem as they lack self-awareness. They are totally unaware of this problem within themselves and would certainly deny the problem exists.
This seems quite an elitist position to take. That would make it the opposite of humble.
How do you square that with the expectations of Christian behaviour?
God loves you, and the whole world. John 3:16. Most people are not aware of that. You are dead until you can believe and receive that. This seems quite an elitist position to take. That would make it the opposite of humble. How do you square that with the expectations of Christian behaviour?
It is the inward witness of the Holy Ghost. Now, to the question.
What is the test for awareness? What is the evidence that one is "aware"?
I would think that 'strong self-preservation instincts' would indicate awareness of the dangers we face every day on this earth. It is evident that many if not most are unaware of these dangers, based on the problems they have. They are "asleep at the switch" as they say.
To be clear I speak from experience.![]()
It is the inward witness of the Holy Ghost.
Isa. 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
That may change if you have enough experience about the "after life".
When you can shake off the urge to follow the "I can't.", or the"that's impossible." that environment and culture pushes on you; and you embrace the "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.",(I am referring to the born again or woke/self aware person),and you embrace the" all things are possible", you walk in the confidence that our Father is with you.I meant in relation to the OP.
"A prudent (aware) man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished." Proverbs 22:3
We have to be willing to give our lives in persevering for our faith. Think of the martyrs.I practice that verse in life.
But too much self-preservation is also bad - Luke 17:33
That is obviously an option you rejected. Why?There seems to be no other humble way to say it than not say it at all.
1. "a true Christian". Your elitism is showing again. (And you are going very close to breaking forum rules.)You probably don't know how a true Christian should behave or what would most people think of them..
I practice that verse in life.

Fair enough: you confirm it is elitist and avoid addressing my points regarding humility. Duly noted. Thank you for taking the time to reply.God loves you, and the whole world. John 3:16. Most people are not aware of that. You are dead until you can believe and receive that.
2. You are also being presumptuous in thinking I "probably don't know" what constitutes Christian behaviour, or what some Christians like to think most people think of them. (I've added the words in italics for accuracy.)
