  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i mean I don't have formal time to study, I read here and there but to focus is hard. I have 3 kids, it's hard to learn everything at once, that's all.

How do you find the time to refute studies that you don't have the time to study?

And I come to this forum to gain more knowledge and its a problem now. Wow
Of course it isn't. What is a problem is that when people try to give you evidence and you ignore or dismiss it. Just like the whole Great Pyramid thread. I gave you evidence that a couple of the claims made by people you believe were demonstrably wrong and you ignored it.

And if you really are here to learn...I can show you exactly how we know initial quantities of isotopes, and that it is NOT an assumption. We can actually determine it. There are several ways, actually, but one of them is pretty easy to understand if you set your mind to it.

Human Evolution Timeline Interactive | The Smithsonian Institution's Human Origins Program

Ok when I look at this timeline from the Smithsonian Institute, I am quite overwelmed that you Evolutionists take human evolution so seriously.

The general timeline consists of human evolution taking 8 MILLION YEARS.

We have a few bones and no missing ancestors found on the right side of the timeline. Their brains slightly increase and they start to walk upright.

We move on some thousands of years to find more bone fragments and teeth

Then we get to 2600 MILLION years ago and the 'humans' start to develop Tools.

So this was 4 to 5 MILLION YEARS just to learn how to walk and start to use stone Tools!!

Then we have about 2 MILLION YEARS just to learn how to use a fire after using Tools.

Then we have about 788 THOUSAND YEARS for our brain to increase and the development of farming and herding after Learning to use a fire.

Then we have 8 THOUSAND YEARS of evolution: using symbols on objects to flying to the MOON!!!

Don't you all see how bizarre this looks??? 8 thousand years from carving on objects to flying to the moon and 6 MILLION years just to learn how to walk and use Tools and a fire??!!!!!!

(Evidence includes fragments of bones and skulls, and Tools)

I know a little more about ToE than you, so while I understand your dismay, it's really not an issue for me. Once you reach Jedi level in your training, you too, will scoff at the naivete of your OP. May the ToE be with you, my young Padawan.

I totally get that. Though I do not have children, I have a very busy life (although one might miss that considering the frequency with which I post here - I post when I need to divert my eyes from work, while at work). Anyway, I still find time to read articles. Even if it's just on my iPad while I'm lying in bed at night. Find time for yourself. The evidence is out there, I promise. All you have to do is look. But what you can't do, and expect good results, is to make a thread asking about evolution then declare IT'S NOT TRUE!!! IT CAN'T BE!!!! when you haven't even seen all the evidence. Educate yourself first.

That's the reason I'm here. I study this and that, then I come here to see what you all have to say about it to get more clarification.

What's wrong with that and what is so contradictory???!!

That's based of of scientists assumptions!

Carbon's half-life is 5750 years. All carbon would of been gone since a while if the earth is 3 or 4 billion years old.

Anya, I know I have already corrected you on this, so why do you continue to make this claim?

Carbon 14 is CONSTANTLY PRODUCED in the atmosphere, so NO, all carbon would NOT be gone.
You didn't read carefully 46AND2.

All carbon would of been gone
Anyathesword, you claim to have looked up te evidence AND you write such a stupid thing?
First istopes. Read it. We can't talk unless you read this.
Then: istopes

Carbon -14 production in the atmosphere.

There are two types of carbon: C-12 and C-14. Only C-14 is unstable. Even if you ignore the continuous production of C-14, you claim that all carbon would have been gone is showing your abyssimal ignorance on the subject.

Nah, I noticed that, too. I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she was talking about C14 only...since that is surely what was argued in whichever creationist literature she got it from.

There are actually 15 known isotopes of carbon from C8 to C22. C12 and C13 are stable, the rest are radioactive.

C12, C13, and C14 are the only ones found in nature. The rest are artificially produced.

I still have not found any decent explanations to 'make me think twice' about the timeline I posted from the Smithsonian Institute.

This is what ignorant children and Young stupid ignorant women like me, see and get taught.

The only problem is, I don't fall for this as easily. I am totally ignorant about science sure, but I am not ignorant to the fact that GOD created human beings.

This theory is going beyond just 'scientific fact' to a religion.

Let me ask you this. YOU are stuck on your view and do not want the Christian view in your minds either. Do you study the Bible? Do you try to put the two together? Intelligente Creator and science? NO, you don't. You are totally convinced that you Evolved from an 'imaginary" common ancestor who is no where to be found.

Have you guys considered the fact that to evolve, you would also need to evolve a male and a female to reproduce?

The fact is we are on our sides and our minds will not change, so all we do is exchange information. Or insult each other, which is even better.

Did you catch my post from the first page? It might have not been noticed.

I think I see where you're going wrong- You're conflating biological development with intelligence, learning and knowledge.

It took a long time for humans to develop physically - biologically - to our current state, with our current mental capacity. But once we had reached it, we became capable of great feats of intelligence and learning, enabling us to survive better. Once survival was no longer a major concern, our intelligence allowed us to develop societies, systems, and technology that has brought us to our current modern lifestyle. We also benefit from learning more and more and preserving that knowledge better and better, so each generation gets greater and greater benefits. Knowledge and learning increase exponentially.

In short - it took a long time for us to grow the big fat brains we have, but once we finally had them we could use them to learn and invent. And the more learning and inventing we do, the better we get at it.
