How Would You React If a Close Sibling Was Gay?

Hi all!
The reason I asked this question is cause I have heard that some people change when they find out that their sibling is gay (came out of the closet) Here is an example, I came across this quote from actress Anne Hathaway about her gay sibling:

I disagree with a couple of the stances of the Catholic Church. My older brother is gay and it's important for me to be able to love him completely and freely and it's important for me to spread beliefs in the world that are not going to limit people in their love.I can't support a religion that doesn't support my brother.

What is your stand point on this topic?

Me well, I would never change what I believe if I knew someone close to me "come out of the closet". IT will NEVER change my relationship with Jesus! I would still care for that individual (Like I think Jesus would) but I am strong with my walk with Christ. I would NEVER preach to them about what i beleive, however if they ask me what i beleive I would HONESTLY tell them but never come down on them or be harsh, I cant imagine Jesus reacting that way. Basically I would what the Good Lord would want me to do!!!! I live for Him, NO ONE ELSE!!!! I care for Jesus 100% that is why I thrive to do what He would want me to do, and that is to spread the Spirit of the Lord, through my joy!

It happened to me - not with a sibling, but a much loved, very close cousin. I absolutely adore him and his life partner.

As a "gay" person, I guess it's my family you would have to ask. When I first came out they were sadden...not because I was gay...but beause the life would be difficult given the hatred some people have towards gay people for no reason. Anyway, I have a nephew that is the most religous person in my family. he's amazing. His beliefs are much different than mine, and we get into it sometimes..but when it's all done and over..we hug..and he always says "I love you just the same"...what more can you ask for? Certainly they don't have to agree with it, or believe that it's ok..but they do accept and understand..and that's all you can ask for.

I'd probably worry about them a bit because of how the rest of my family might react, but I'd like to think that I'd be there for them and support them.
