How Would You React If a Close Sibling Was Gay?

Hi all!
The reason I asked this question is cause I have heard that some people change when they find out that their sibling is gay (came out of the closet) Here is an example, I came across this quote from actress Anne Hathaway about her gay sibling:

I disagree with a couple of the stances of the Catholic Church. My older brother is gay and it's important for me to be able to love him completely and freely and it's important for me to spread beliefs in the world that are not going to limit people in their love.I can't support a religion that doesn't support my brother.

What is your stand point on this topic?

Me well, I would never change what I believe if I knew someone close to me "come out of the closet". IT will NEVER change my relationship with Jesus!:amen: I would still care for that individual (Like I think Jesus would) but I am strong with my walk with Christ. I would NEVER preach to them about what i beleive, however if they ask me what i beleive I would HONESTLY tell them but never come down on them or be harsh, I cant imagine Jesus reacting that way. Basically I would what the Good Lord would want me to do!!!I live for Him, NO ONE ELSE!!!! I care for Jesus 100% that is why I thrive to do what He would want me to do, and that is to spread the Spirit of the Lord, through my joy!

God bless you all!:)

I would treat him the same way I treat any unbliever: pass along the gospel to him and pray for him.

I'd sign him up for Exodus International and book his plane ticket.

Seriously. I've been wanting to write a mystery series with a protagonist who has been through one of those programs and struggles with self-hate, yet knowing who he really is inside, all while smartly solving crimes. I could really use a man on the inside.

But back to the real world.... I love my brother, but as far as I can tell he has two emotions: hungry and not hungry. It would come as a big shock, not only that he is gay, but that he bothered to tell us.

My personal experience dealing with that particular genus, is that they do have two emotions, hungry and hungrier, with an occasional episode of, "I'm starved don't we have anything to eat in this house?"

Aber wir lieben deutsch!

Maar nederlands is heel erg beter ^_^ :p
LOL, love the German and Dutch in this thread!

I can't really answer as my only sibling is heterosexual, but one of my husband's sisters is gay. I have never known her without knowing of her homosexuality so it never was a surprise or shock to me, and of course she is not as close to me as a blood sister, but still she's pretty close and I love her very much and I accept her for who she is. She's not a christian, and of course I wish she were - I suspect that her church's view on homosexuality has had a lot to do with her leaving the church.

As far as I know, she's single and chaste - but I'm not her chaperonne, and she doesn't need to tell me everything.
