How would you greet a bishop?

Not changing is a good thing if the teachings are truth. Not growing in more understanding is not a good thing.

Once the fullness of the truth is given we don't need additional "growth". Truth is truth, it doesn't need addition.

Dead works - legalism - can not save either. It reveals spiritual death.

The walking dead = the dedicated religious spirit.

Eternally save = faith in Christ.

Temporally save = walk in faith in this world that will produce works.

If a believer gets caught up in a form of discipline that should have been escaped if he had been walking in the Spirit? His human works can not save him.

If walking in grace and truth? God's grace appearing in the midst of his works will save him.

This is how our faith can save us in times of evil....

Finding yourself genuinely peaceful while doing those actions? = Good works.

Works are not all certain deeds like religion wants us to believe.

Preaching at the choir. I've stated multiple times Faith AND works are both required. So yes I agree, works without faith are worthless. One without the other is pointless. You cannot do good works without faith, and you cannot have faith without works.

Correct.... Many have quite a different idea as to what constitutes "good works." Their idea is equivalent to promoting a works program to follow, which has nothing to do with the leading of the Spirit.

With a hand shake and a "how do you do".

If we both had the time I'd take the opportunity to tell him about my trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ for salvation and give him the gospel with an invitation to pray with me and do the same.

I do not understand this evangelical obsession with if someone does not think like them then they are not Christians. The way some of you evangelicals act is that us Traditional Christians (Anglican, Catholic, Orthodox, etc) are not Christians but sons of Satan.

But given some of the teachings I've heard from some formal and sacramental religious folks here in the forum concerning what it takes to get saved, why not give him the gospel just in case he has misunderstood it as so many others have?

Being a religious type, he'd likely be up for a conversation about religion. Why waste the opportunity?

Here's an idea: if so many people here hate the Christian religion, then maybe Christian Forums is not the place for them?

Go post on "IAmMyOwnJudge.com" or "NobodyUnderstandsChristianityButMe.net" something. And if those don't exist, I'm sure you can found them and draw tons of similar really 'advanced' and 'spiritual, but not religious' people to them. People who really get it.

It's been implied quite a number of times that Traditional Christians are not really Christians just because we don't look at Scriptures the same way you all do. I am sick and tried of people acting like we are not Christians. It is absolute disrespect to say one would give a Bishop the gospel, He would know the gospel better than that person.

If you don't understand the truth of what I said about many people in this forum misunderstanding the gospel - perhaps you need to pay more attention.

We have atheists, Muslims, Hindus, agnostics and every manor of religious people posting here in the forum and many or most misunderstand how to get saved and keep saved. What I called sacramental religious folks are quite often among the most clueless.

I don't "hate the Christian religion". I love it so much I want to give the gospel to everyone I think might not have heard it or had misunderstood it.

I would never imply such a thing. I know of many Traditional Christians who have understood salvation by grace through faith perfectly well.

That hasn't really been my experience in person nor by reading the writings of some.
