Philippians 2:12
Consequently, my beloved ones, just as you have always obeyed, not only during my presence but now much more readily during my absence, keep working out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Note... It does not say.

Consequently, my beloved ones, just as you have always obeyed,
not only during my presence but now much more readily during
my absence, keep working for your salvation with fear
and trembling.

It says we need to work out what we have already been given.

One does not work for gaining what one already has. It says that we need to work it out with what we have possession of.

Its like parents watching their child after getting a new bicycle, seeing him fall off a few times because he still has not developed the right sense of balance needed.

The mother is concerned he will hurt himself, and has second thoughts about the gift.

The father turns to her and tells her... "Don't worry, he needs to work it out."

Likewise. We have been given our salvation. We have our "bicycle." Salvation!

We now need to learn how to work it out IN OUR THINKING to learn balance in the Spirit and in Truth.

Some fear bruises and falling. They demand training wheels, or to go back to a tricycle = religion.

It seems you don't know how a bike works.

Besides myself knowing. You just deflected away from the point that was made by stating an untruth. And, that is all what you said is good for.

If I don't try to learn how to bike then the bike is useless for me.

I know that, But, I give them to you anyway.

Because some others here may have the capacity to receive and understand what I say.

If it were simply one-on-one, and not a public forum for anyone to see? I would not have even gotten into such a conversation....

Lol you can't say you are winning a debate when the other side is refusing to take part any longer. You're just talking to empty space here.

I am entertained however that you are only trying to wrest the interpretation of ONE VERSE I gave you out of about 7 that all the same thing. So while you have manged to I guess give yourself a satisfying answer, try doing that for the other ones.

You are also conveniently leaving out the "fear and trembling" part of the verse. Why would a person need to be in fear and trembling over salvation they are already 100% guaranteed. But hey I guess you will find a way to justify that.

But do it in your head because I have no interest in seeing you try to wrest scriptural interpretation to ridiculous levels to satisfy a narrative you won't let go of.

You do not understand what you cite. You see a keyword, and throw it out. You have no answers. Only an agenda and its talking points....

I am not talking to "empty space." If I were, you would not have responded. Oh! I see now... Hello, Empty Space! Interesting avatar you have there.

Ahh yes the ad hominem. Since when is posting Scriptural verses and asking how you feel about them "talking points". Why do you insist on trying to continue an already toxic debate?

Lets just agree to disagree. It's literally just flaming at this point.

Either a bishop, Patriarch, Pope, Ecumenical Patriarch. How would you greet that person? With a kiss, reverence?

I have never met one face to face but I would most likely greet him the same as any brother or sister in Christ.

Not flaming. Pointing out an erroneous technique.

You misused and misinterpreted the passages you used. They contained a key word that was a part of the topic. That's why you use them. That may impress someone who does not study the Bible in depth because they would not now what you quoted either.
