How would you explain why this kind of thinking is wrong?

My mom does not go to church because of the hypocrisy she sees in Christians. Keep in mind she is RC.

My thought is:

Do you know how hard it is to not be a hypocrite? What can one expect?

yes, it's hard. but as the cliche goes: not going to Church because sinners are there is like not going to the gym because there are out of shape people there.

Yep. I hate going to the doctor and being around all those sick people... (me? I'm fine; I'm just there for the free little cups of water, of course.)
