So, how to pronounce yhwh as the name of God? That's the question of this OP.
You think it's more important than the letters? I think you're wrong.

But a clue apart from the other clues already mentioned is that the W is the same sound as in Rouach. It's an elongated ooouuu. So it becomes Yaaa-huuuuu-aaaaa as I said. Or Yah-ou-ah.

You all speak English I presume? I thought of a simple way to figure this out, just look at the very first Bibles translated into English, these Bibles were written before, the Jehovah's Witnesses were even a religion. Actually the first Bibles written in English were written over a hundred years before their religion even began, using the word Jehovah.

You will find God's name in the first English Bible either at Psalms 83:18 or a footnote. This is the way it was pronounced in English not Hebrew.

Usage in English Bible translations

The following versions of the Bible render the Tetragrammaton as Jehovah either exclusively or in selected verses:

  • William Tyndale, in his 1530 translation of the first five books of the English Bible, at Exodus 6:3 renders the divine name as Iehovah. In his foreword to this edition he wrote: "Iehovah is God's name... Moreover, as oft as thou seeist LORD in great letters (except there be any error in the printing) it is in Hebrew Iehovah."
  • The Great Bible (1539) renders Jehovah in Psalm 33:12 and Psalm 83:18.
  • The Geneva Bible (1560) translates the Tetragrammaton as Jehovah in Exodus 6:3, Psalm 83:18, and two other times as place-names, Genesis 22:14 and Exodus 17:15.
  • In the Bishop's Bible (1568), the word Jehovah occurs in Exodus 6:3 and Psalm 83:18.
  • The Authorized King James Version (1611) renders Jehovah in Exodus 6:3, Psalm 83:18, Isaiah 12:2 (see image),

Sorry, there is a video on YouTube by a Hebrew scholar that was part of the Dead Sea Scrolls findings, he was also born Jewish and has several books about God's name in Hebrew, are you interested in the video at all?

Nehemia Gordon claims that 10 different Rabbi speak out about God's name. He does not really believe in Jesus, his information is from Strictly a Jewish Hebrew viewpoint.

Nehemia Gordon explains how to pronounce each consonant and vowel in God's name in Hebrew. This is his website if you are interested?
