Hi everyone.

So I guess the title says it all? ;)

I used to be a little overweight and I had strech marks. Now I still have to loose weight but still already lost almost 60 pounds but since I lift weight almost 5 times a week, they just won't go away.

Some have faded a bit and turned white but others are still visiable between my arms and my pecs.

I heard that peanut butter might help, is this true or just a grand-mother trick?

Thanks everyone for your help and input on this, God bless you all.

To be honest, I've never heard of or come across anything that actually made stretch marks disappear. There is some vitamin k lotion for scarring that supposedly helps, but that's the best I can offer once you already have them. Just give it time. :)

Cocoa butter (in the lotion aisle at your supermarket) is supposed to lessen the appearance of scarring. My dermatologist told me that the key is to massage it into the skin and somehow that helps. I did that for a scar and I can hardly see it anymore. I'm not sure that it will make a stretch mark completely go away, but it might make it less visable. If you're still losing weight, just keep yourself as moisturized as possible. It helps a little with stretch marks and the appearance of 'stretched out' skin. :)

Thanks everyone.

I have some kind of vitamin E lotion that are suposed to make them go away but they won't. It just make them stop getting worst.

laura_lynn: If it's not too indiscrete, how much did it cost her?

Thank you everyone for you input, I will try out the cocoa butter.

I too would suggest cocao butter, massage it in to affected areas morning and night. Also try to find the vitamin k lotion, it will help to remove the effects of scarring. The key here, is consistancy, with every remedy you must do it more than once and keep it up get into the habit of applying the lotions and creams day and night.

Make sure that the lotions you buy are free from alcohol and artificial fragrance, as they can cause strain on your skin and defeat the whole purpose!

Blessings!

Stretch marks are scars. They won't ever go away, but the best way to minimize them is time. It will take some time for them to become lighter in appearance. Also laser surgery may drastically help.
