You're right. It isn't fair.

My posting to this "side" isn't a way of laying blame or saying that conservatives somehow owe greater compromise. It's more a matter of encouraging "my" group to take the high road. I could go to people with whom I disagree and tell them to take the high road, but they wouldn't take that nearly as well as if it came from "one of their own."

I don't have control over how others interact with me. I do have control over how I interact with them. I seek to effect change where change is feasible.

I would be thrilled if other groups on this site also adopted this approach as their own. It truly does work best, and is the most fair, when all "sides" are giving it equal effort. Sadly, things aren't always equal, and at times the best we can do is keep our own house in order.
I agree with what you said on communication. I guess that, because I have some personal issues that directly relate to this issue (nothing on the board, trust me), I am frustrated that it is always one side that is asked to take the high road.

It's exhausting. It's painful. The thing is, I do it, especially relating to my own "issue" because it is of the utmost importance to me. That is the problem here, I think. I don't think that the issues that are being argued about here on the boards are of the same level of importance to everyone involved. It causes blinders of sorts. One side is unable to even catch a glimpse of another side and vice versa, then it simply doesn't seem to matter to anyone.

At least, that is how it seems from the view of a person who has tried very hard to stay neutral. :sigh: It is becoming more and more difficult. You know how when people say that when you really love someone, you only want what is best for them, even if it hurts you in the process. I don't see that kind of investment in people here for many. It's about the issue, not the person, so it is hard to see that sometimes you have to do things in baby steps.

That's an interesting perspective... some things I can stay neutral about for sure - but some I can't. It's like you said, the level of importance is different to some.
That's really true.

In this instance of what's already been allowed here, I just can't find it in me to think this stuff is no big deal anymore. Not that I'll get back into it again tho.
 :p
Nice perspective.

I have asked over and over for this forum to pray over this matter. I have not had a single response from anyone. Where there is division, and yes, folks, this is a good old fashioned split right down the middle, we are supposed to meet together and pray. We are not supposed to continue arguing and arguing and arguing about who is right and who is wrong.

Disclaimer: This only works if every single member sincerely will be open the the true will of God meaning that he or she must be willing to admit they could be wrong.

There was a time when folks trusted me here. There was a time when Macrina was trusted as well. I am seeing accusations thrown left and right. They are subtle, but they are there.

Brothers and sisters, we need to get the motes out of our own eyes before we go out and try to fix what we think is broken in CF.

Conservatives? Seems like we are just a wallowing bunch of hogs fighting over the last piece of corn right now.

I am calling for a CCC Forum Wide Prayer. I de-double dare y'all to not post another single post until 9pmEST. We need to get ourselves right before we try to fix each other and fix those outside of this forum.

Please????

I've BEEN praying Lisa - more than I ever have in the past for this entire forum.

And yes, until the INNER forums get fixed, we aren't going to be much of any help to anyone outside. The wounded can hardly heal other wounded.

I am pained by this, too, 3g2d. There are days when I'm so ticked off at some of my colleagues that I don't want to take any of my advice, because it seems like I'm the one having to do all the work.

But I do it because someone has to. It's not fair when the same person has to take the high road time and again, while someone else gets away with treating them badly -- but this is a fallen world and sadly, we suffer from the consequences of sin -- including the sin of others.

Btw, if you ever want to talk things out, I'm only a PM away. Any time.

If it is a flame, report me. It was my opinion and it still is. In fact, you just made my case for me.

I didn't see your post as a flame because I understood your post and I could have post as you did. This is how we feel and we are frustrated.

Lisa you know the rules

im not a thin skinned child to have to report you

If you want to live by your prior post live by it, or was it just words?

I am getting ready for church. You posted that before I had a chance to pray over it. Secondly, I was already thinking about it, but I am not going to be bullied into it either.

As I said, Time, rather than pointing out what I have done, maybe, you need to work on your own and let me work on mine.

Do you not see? Your first response to my request to go to prayer was to accuse. Are you actually unwilling to pray over this unless your conditions are met by me?

Let God discipline me. If I was wrong to post that, God will settle my account. I do not need you to do it for me especially when I am asking EVERYONE to stop, pray, and THEN come back and settle the wrongs and make things right.

Why are you asking me to make things right as a condition on you praying over this?
