... and I notice you used your mind to rationalise the simple concept of human deceit of a supposedly 'needy' people (by invoking the existence of the untestable 'Satan' entity).Oh yes there is. Satan will do whatever it takes to keep people away from the knowledge that God created them, that they are sinful and in need of a saviour.
If chance random process made us then there can easily be no God in this world view. Which means man sets the rules with no need to answer to any God.
If God made us, he sets the rules, he is in control, and we will answer to him.
Seems like a really dumb way for Satan to go about it. No wonder he's going to lose in the end.
Can God create a weight he/she cannot lift or make 1+1=3?
(Warning alert this is the Ominpotence Paradox.)
But it only works on that minority of Christians who are committed to a literal interpretation of Genesis.Hardly dumb if it works. Satan's method has always been to cast doubt onto God's word. "Did God really say?" were his words to Eve and look how well that worked.
But it only works on that minority of Christians who are committed to a literal interpretation of Genesis.
It keeps us from believing in a literal Genesis, I suppose, but that is only essential doctrine for some Protestants. For the rest of us, our faith in Christ does not depend on it.He uses them on everyone, aware of him or not. His purpose is to keep you from believing God's word.
.. well I can't step outside of my own mind y'know .. I've sorta become attached to it (or I was born attached to it).
I'm sorry, I don't understand how they can be your 'thoughts, morals and ethics' in that sentence? My point is that my ethics and morals, as well as all my thoughts, are subject to my mind, not vice versa.
Embedded in the Law of Moses was a prohibition against eating bats.
Said prohibition not only was ignored, but was ridiculed on Linnaean grounds.
Now we wear masks.
In your previous post you stated God sets the rules and with the added concept of purpose is a strong case for omnipotence.God does everything with a purpose, so if there was a reason to do something he would.
Most times the world follows laws that he put in place. For examples, animals don't speak, but if God wanted to make a donkey speak he could.
Numbers 22
27 When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, it lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat it with his staff. 28 Then the Lord opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?”
This is one way of telling if something has a supernatural cause not just a physical or mental one.
All thoughts are spiritual (can't be observed, or predicted, using the scientific method).
Nope.So you think this is a case of the people who wrote the Bible knowing about the Covid pandemic that would happen thousands of years later?
God said don't eat bats. People ate bats. Now we have to wear masks. Then what exactly was your point back in 2307?

"1+1=2" is a "rule" can God purposely make "1+1=3"?
No doubt, it's easy to introduce Satan as the instigator or perpetrator of anything you don't like and call it a hoax, but it's an unverifiable, unfalsifiable assertion, indistinguishable from fiction; it goes nowhere because, with the same logic, I can claim that what you're saying is the duplicitous work of Satan and therefore a hoax. So good luck with that.Oh yes there is. Satan will do whatever it takes to keep people away from the knowledge that God created them, that they are sinful and in need of a saviour.
Quite. If chance random process made us then there can easily be no God in this world view. Which means man sets the rules with no need to answer to any God.
That's a big 'if' - let me know when you can substantiate it.If God made us, he sets the rules, he is in control, and we will answer to him.
Why did God even make the laws in the first place? Why not just have a sort of continuous running miracle all the time? That way he wouldn't have to change and restore them everytime he wanted to do the 'smote' thing!?... God set in motion the laws of nature such as the earth turning once every 24 hours but miracles don't follow the laws which is why I gave the donkey talking as an example. God has also changed those laws twice, once at the fall and once again at the flood.
Instead of dismissing the link as being silly I suggest you reread it given you have clearly defined God as being omnipotent.I was talking about rules for living. God says that salvation is only to be found through Jesus and that we will face him and answer for what we have done during our life.
God also sets the laws of nature too of course, is this what you are asking about? I think that link was silly.

The difficulty is in taking a word--like "potent" which describes material entities of our experience--and sticking "omni" in front of it and expecting it to mean anything at all.Instead of dismissing the link as being silly I suggest you reread it given you have clearly defined God as being omnipotent.
Explain if omnipotent beings can create a stone they cannot lift because the logical conclusion is that no being can be omnipotent.
This paradox has been around for centuries and has troubled theologians.
