You were going on about how people dont joyfully attribute tragedies to God. Two pictures were posted. I lauded water for its benefits in the first picture and I also rejoiced when a man drowned (in water) in the second. What are you complaining about?

Do you always rejoice when there is a natural disaster that causes death, suffering and misery?

If it was up to 'minds' like yours,we would never ever have had telephones, gone to the moon, flown etc.
Thank heavens there were those who could go beyond the mundane mind
and were called 'mad',or worse to to push humanity forward.
If you don't have anything intelligent or creative to say, better
to be quiet.

computers,
That makes no sense. Believing in gods has gotten us no place. We've progressed in spite of gods. Example... Isaac Newton with his brilliant mind realized that a different kind of mathematics was required to figure out the chaos of the real world. Instead of continuing on to figure that out, he just proclaimed that God must step in every so often to make everything right and stopped. It took another century and another mathematician, LaPlace, I believe, to figure out the theorems. Without a belief in an imaginary god Newton would have gone forward and we'd likely have had that math long before LaPlace.

But if I criticize your unflinching belief in whatever it is you believe in I'm unintelligent. While your faith has repressed knowledge for 2,000 years.

That's like saying you don't need your mother while stuffing groceries into your mouth at her table as you have nowhere else to go. Form the time you use your created being to type this message you defeat your own argument. Some people don't need the atom either btw. The real (nuclear) power comes after.
That's a lousy analogy as my mother exists. She has a table and she has groceries. You're trying to equate your deity for whom there is no evidence that it exists, no evidence that it created anything, no evidence that it has a table and no evidence that it ever had any groceries. But you want me to be grateful to it because you have a book that claims its real.

I have books that claim bigfoot is real too. Should I worship it?

The man you claim was Jesus likely never said any such thing.
You say this in a thread titled: How some creationists pushed me away from christianity ... and you expect us then to what? take the OP's lament seriously?

It appears I could say 'Jesus walked on water', and cause a church split, eh?

 -- I'd certainly hate to see 1000 ... Christians ... lose their faith because I happened to mention this mag... er ... miracle.

I think you will learn as this age of atheism progresses to it's death,
why an acceptance of the Creator is necessary ,and why every society,
as it progessed materially and scientifically, turning their backs on
a higher power,died soon afterwards.

The OP is "creationists" meaning YOU have pushed some guy away from Christianity. I'm just pointing out the difficulty of believing any of it, much less the absolute insanity of creationism. You guys have taken what seems to be a reasonable message (in all likelihood) and turned it into a bizarre tale of magic and contradictions that you insist everyone must believe or they aren't "true Christians."

You dismiss far more people from your faith than I ever have.

Your argument made no sense.
As I said it is not my role to spoon feed you what took me years of research .
I will may be one time give more, but right now there are too many with the disease of 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing'.
I look at most atheists and I see not very much ,because I know how stupid it is to be one ,and so did Einstein.
I write for the young who are really looking ,not for 'swine'.The path of truth is a very long one, and some of you want it on a plate, and while saying you do not believe, have never ever read the bible, or know anything much about anything really.

I was raised in a church-going family. Reason didn't push me out of church. My own insistence on being modern and wanting to ignore various moral concerns, and my cultivation of doubt, all of that brought me to a point where I was left realizing that I would have been a hypocrite to stay in church.

When I eventually came to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, it also wasn't due to a long series of impersonal abstract calculations of logic, but rather it had a lot to do with having an openness to re-consider, to put aside my stubbornness.
