Hello,
I am new to this relationship that is Christianity. I need and want to work my way through the Holy Bible, but I could use some help figuring out where to begin and how. I just need some guidance to get me started from some of you who have followed the same path as I have.
Thank you all in advance,
Jon-Michael
Hey my brother in Christ, Jon-Michael
I praise God when I hear that you have gotten to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Although I myself grew up in a christian family, we (the kids) were given the right to decide for ourselves at the age of 13-15. My two sisters are not christians today, but I am. I began searching for God at the age of 14, I read the whole New Testament at the age of 15-16, and at the age of 16, God revealed Himself to me in supernatural ways.
I am glad that you want to sit down and experience the Word of God, because it is a Living Word. I would encourage you to start reading gospels. Mark is a nice start, it is short, and it's filled with "action". John is a bit longer, and it explains the mysteries of Christ, so that Jesus may meet you in a special way. Matt and Luke+Acts, are also as good as the rest (I love the whole Bible.

).
Here's my thought:
pray to God in the name of Jesus, that the Holy Spirit (that you have gotten since you confess Jesus as Lord) may guide you and teach you as you read the Bible.
start reading Mark (16 chapters), then go on to John. Later you should read, Matt, Luke and Acts.
you should also read Psalms, and Proverbs.
Romans (located just after Acts) is a good book, it gives you an understanding of how we are free from sin, and justified before God.
I wish - that's pray - you all well in your walk with Jesus Christ. Walk with Him daily, and always be ready to praise God the Father for His love and grace.
may the love of God, the grace of Christ and the community of the Holy Spirit be with you
your brother in Christ
Magnus
