I believe the RCC when she says that we can believe the Universe is billions of years old.

It might be billions of years old, but it has only been in existence since 4004 BC.

I don't think anyone is enabling anyone.
Rubbish your post is about enabling Hovind.
Let me remind you that Mr Hovind was quoting a professor -- not himself.
Here is the very example of enabling Hovind by assuming he is telling the truth.
Why doesn’t he name the individual, I’d be very interested in knowing the identity and background of a professor who thinks the Big Bang was the result of a particle which spun faster and faster until it exploded.
The most likely explanation for the omission is Hovind made up the story or has deliberately misquoted the individual and wants to avoid any consequences.
And if he didn't have this criminal record for you to hang your hat on?

What was he BEFORE he was convicted?
Once again your critical thinking skills are seriously lacking, take a look at the video again.
What do you notice he is preaching to a crowd in his capacity and job function as a Christian minister while at the same time defrauding the taxation system.

If you think he is now a reformed person he has sunk lower by defending a friend of his in the press charged with sex abuse against minors.
If they want to throw the baby out with the bathwater, that's their prerogative.

Read the Bible and see what God's people did.

Especially David, known as "the man after God's own heart."

So these "conservative Christians" can just get a knife and cut out most of the Old Testament, can't they?
In a “Hovindesque” style you are using the Bible to justify attacking your fellow conservative Christians who clearly have a far bigger moral compass than you can ever have by recognizing Hovind for who he is.

It wouldn’t surprise me you would sell your soul to the devil, on condition the devil also attacked science.
Would you even know it, if his theology was good?

Oh, get off it, astro.
I see the truth hurts.
Since you have become Hovind’s apologist its up you to show he has become an all round nice guy and what is so good about his theology.
What do the Crusades have to do with this? or were you referring to the Salem Witch Trials?
What are you babbling on about now?

That doesn’t make sense

Scientifically, no it doesn't.

But then neither does feeding the five thousand, walking on water, or resurrecting from the dead make scientific sense either.

I’m leaning toward returning to the RCC which is free to believe the universe is billions of years old. I know of priests who have said that it’s that old, which is freeing.
When I was in Italy many years ago I became acquainted with a Jesuit priest who was also a physicist and had no problems in combining his faith with science.
What impressed me the most however was he was able to successfully negotiate with the Vatican to finance and renovate a dilapidated medieval church in his parish in northern Italy by converting it into a refuge shelter for battered women.

Now THAT sounds like a good guy. Not Hovind.

Mother Teresa should REALLY impress you then, huh?
