I know, but it’s all over my head.
That's okay it's meant to show you that there is a legitimate scientific explanation for the difference in the perception of time

If scientists are right and man as we are today has existed for 300,000 years then that would mean that the genealogies in the Bible are wrong.
The genealogies in the Bible cover the last 6,000 years. From Adam to Jesus. I read and I study the genealogies, most people skip over them. The "Jewish" people in Jerusalem do a lot of research on Genes because they have a lot of inbreeding with the illness that goes along with that. Perhaps the most famous gene is the Cohan gene.

The Cohen Modal Haplotype (CMH) is a specific set of genetic markers on the Y-chromosome that is found at a relatively high frequency among Jewish Kohanim, who are believed to be descendants of the biblical Aaron, the brother of Moses. Kohanim hold a special religious status and perform priestly duties in Judaism.

Haplogroups J1 and J2 are specific branches of the Y-chromosome haplogroup tree, which is used to track paternal ancestry. These haplogroups are found in various populations across the Middle East and Mediterranean regions, including Jewish and non-Jewish individuals.

If ever there was an opportunity to disprove the Bible, DNA would be it. But the DNA evidence perfectly supports the Bible even if it does not support bad translations and bad interpretations. It all comes down to the fact that Adam and Eve had a belly button. No matter how much people claim otherwise.

This changes very very fasts as they are gaining more understanding. Still, ever since Watson came out with his book the double helix in the late 60's I have studied and kept up with the research on DNA.

"The Double Helix," a book written by James D. Watson, which was published in 1968. The book is a personal account of the discovery of the structure of DNA and the events leading up to it. James D. Watson, along with Francis Crick and Maurice Wilkins, is credited with elucidating the double helical structure of DNA, which is a fundamental breakthrough in the field of molecular biology.

If scientists are right and man as we are today has existed for 300,000 years then that would mean that the genealogies in the Bible are wrong. That would mean that either the people in that chronology were actually living for tens of thousands of years before having a child or that there are people missing in the genealogies which causes a bigger problem because that means that they’re just flat out false. You can’t have a direct line of ancestry from Adam to Jesus if people are missing from that bloodline because then the scriptures would be saying that certain people had children that they didn’t actually have. That’s not an interpretational matter that becomes an outright false statement and this would have to occur numerous times in order for there to be a 294,000 year gap in the genealogies. If that’s the case then we’ve just proven that the Bible is not trustworthy.
That's a big if. A dirty little secret in science,. Chronologies are built off assumptions that are unproven.

What is WRONG is the idea that MAN in Chapter one is the same as Adam in Chapter two. Adam was in the Garden of Eden. We are told: Genesis 2:7 (NIV): "Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."

Adam had the breath of life. Man in Chapter one did not have the breath of life. A lot of work has gone into understanding how man the food gather became a food producer. This is the BEGINNING of Civilization. We see many, many beginning with Adam and Eve in Chapter two.

All the books in the world do not explain what is going on in chapter one and chapter two. John 21 25 "If they were all written in books, I don't suppose there would be room enough in the whole world for all the books."

Genesis 4:14 Cain says: "You have banished me from the land and from your presence; you have made me a homeless wanderer. Anyone who finds me will kill me!”

Who was Cain worried about IF Adam, Eve and Cain were the only people alive at the time?

The age of these hang on the notion that if their data is correct then these are X amount of years old. Who’s data is more complete, scientists’ or God’s?
Do you mean science and your translation and your interpretation of the Hebrew Bible?

There is no conflict between Science and the Bible. No one has ever given me any science that proves the Bible is not 100% accurate and true.

There is no conflict. God is very exact and precise. The universe God created is very exact and precise.

In Kabbalah and Hasidism, Hebrew letters are assigned numerical values through a system known as "gematria." Gematria is a method of interpreting the Hebrew scriptures (and other texts) by assigning numerical values to letters, words, or phrases. This practice is based on the belief that words or phrases with the same numerical value are somehow spiritually or conceptually related.

We’re not talking about the math from the Bible, we’re talking about the math formulas from the article.
My son can do the Math, he is a computer engineer. I can assure you that those people check up on each other. We are told: "Some people run away at the sight of a math equation. If that is you, just skip down to the results, but as the advert tells us, getting there is half the fun".

Schroeder did make a mistake and one of his graduate students caught him and they corrected it. "The most common non-linear relationship in the universe is A = A0e-Lt ."

Yes, evolutionary science involves a lot of deductions and inferences it seems to me, which you could characterize as speculative, or 'educated guessing'.

I like the inclination to simply stick to the text of the Bible.

Simply reading and listening to the text of the Bible would not include YEC, OEC, etc. -- as all of those theories are of course not actually anywhere in the Bible (which never gives a number for the age of the Earth....).

All such ideas involve interpretations and usually also added ideas not in the text (often just assumed without even having awareness), as soon as they try to specify an amount of time for creation, in that the 'days' can be interpreted in a number of ways, such as obediently to the truth of Bible Gateway passage: 2 Peter 3:8 - New International Version
-- which would instantly mean (if we believe 2nd Peter 3:8 literally) that we cannot specify the mere duration time of the 'days' for God (and perhaps we should not even wish to do so!).

And...
There is an even bigger fish here, you are touching on.

The great majority of doctrines all various churches have involve interpretations and often inferred ideas (conclusions reached by bringing in our own thinking, like for the Trinity Doctrine, which like most any doctrine can fit scripture quite well).

I (just like you I would guess) believe in the Trinity Doctrine, but....nevertheless (even though some doctrines are almost universally thought true) it's wise for us not to use doctrines to filter scripture as we read.

And....anyone is filtering out and ignoring scripture whenever they read with a doctrine in mind as they read...

The thoughts talk over the text.

So, I've tried here at CF in about 100-200 posts to encourage people to just read with pure listening, silencing all other thoughts, including doctrines, to just listen and hear.

Without
then needing to reform the text to just be a doctrine, doctrine D.2 or G.7, etc....

What use is a doctrine then? Well....in fairness, doctrines are what caused churches to split, and so it's reasonable to admit that in general, together as a whole when we include all doctrines that exist -- doctrines have done more harm than good.
Concerning doctrines, Paul told Timothy that the problem was not with doctrine in general but that some were departing from sound doctrine and promulgating fables instead. Paul's view of sound doctrine is shown in what he decided to put to the Corinthians. He determined not to know anything among them save Christ and Him crucified. Therefore sound doctrine centres around Christ and His shed blood on the Cross.

Interpretations around whether YEC or OEC is more accurate are fodder for interesting and stimulating debate, but it is a sideline to the important doctrinal matters that are crucial to our salvation in Christ. The Trinity, for example, is crucial for our salvation, even though the word "Trinity" is not actually used. But there is sufficient evidence that there is a Father, and a Son, and a Holy Spirit, and they are referred to as God, and yet they are three separate persons. But this is somewhat off topic.

That is the point, Adam and Eve were born. Their DNA lines up with people who came before them. Bible Adam and Science Adam are not the same person. Science does use the terms Adam, Eve and Eden. Bryan Sykes wrote a book called "The Seven Daughters of Eve. The Science That Reveals Our Genetic Ancestry,"

We’re not talking about the math from the Bible, we’re talking about the math formulas from the article.
Jesus said: Matthew 18:3 "“unless you are converted and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven". For me that means being able to do 5th grade math. As a carpenter I was amazed at how many people could not do more then 8th grade math. The amish drop out of school in the 8th grade.

Yes, I understand that Schroeder functions at a PhD level in Physics. I understand that not everyone can do the math that gets us to where he is at. The math is still there and his results have a degree of authority because of that. Science is not always what is. Science is also what could be, what is a possible explanation.

Mathematical concepts serve as a foundational language for expressing and understanding the laws and behaviors of the physical world. The close relationship between mathematics and physics has led to numerous discoveries and advancements in both fields.

Who was Cain worried about IF Adam, Eve and Cain were the only people alive at the time?
The first man was Adam. Genesis 2 is a reiteration of Genesis 1.

“So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭45‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

All nations of man came from Adam.

“and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭26‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

The scriptures don’t say that Cain & Able were their first children. We know that Adam was 130 years old when Seth was born. We don’t know how much time was between Cain & Seth. It could’ve been a year, it could’ve been more or less but let’s say that they were 120 years old when Cain killed Able. I just did the math and if my math is correct the population, not counting any twins, triplets, etc, or miscarriages the population could’ve been 9,667 people. Thats calculating that 50% of their offspring were male & the other 50% female and that each female had one child per year beginning when they were 15 years old. So it’s not an exact number but it’s a ballpark figure.

That’s not even close to what the scriptures say. Our DNA lines up 97% with a pig. It lines up 98% with a chimpanzee. It lines up 60% with a banana. There are numerous similarities in DNA to all life forms that are not ancestrally related.

Some Christians think that the earth is between 6000 to 15,000 years old (coinciding with the Neolithic Age). Scientisgts think that it is 4.5 billion years old. Here is an attempt to resolve this incongruity.
The answer to this depends on your faith - not in God or the bible, but the carbon dating method. If you believe in the bible, then the earth is merely about 6000 years old, you can actually add up all the years recorded in the various genealogies and chronicles and Daniel's 490 years and reach a sum total about 4030; if you believe in carbon dating despite its glaring flaws, errors and limitations, then the earth is 4.6 billion years old as so called "scientists" think.
