How old is the earth?

This world having life would be for thousands of years, I am believing it would not have been millions of years. It was the unformed world before the days of creation, and it could have been much longer that way. We have nothing revealed showing what it was in any case.

Thankfully God took the guesswork out of it. God created the world ~6000 years ago and it took him 6 days to create the heaven and the earth...and all that is in them. Jesus died a little less than 2000 years ago - Matthew (to Abraham) and Luke (to Adam) both explained that creation was ~4000 years from the birth of Jesus.

You can sound quite idiotic when you take context out of a conversation. (thats a general statement - not directed to anyone individually)

Creation was ~6000 years ago and took 6 days to complete - that is pretty amazing.

Time did not exist until the fourth day of creation week because then the very things we use to measure the passing of our own existence were created. The light on that 1st day was the glory of GOD. The darkness seperated from the light was the separating of GODS kingdom from Satans kingdom. This was indeed the recreation of the Earth after the destruction caused by the Satanic rebellion. The Earth existed before this and in it were giant creatures and vegetation that doesn’t exist today but we do dig up fossils, bones and such. It is impossible to know the age of the Earth.

You are correct. The age of the Earth is unknowable. There was indeed a restoration that was repairing some kind of catastrophic event. GOD doesn’t create things in confusion and chaos as the Hebrew words tohu and bohu that mean chaos, desolation or wilderness. Everything GOD creates is very good. Given your understanding that Earth existed prior to the Genesis narrative consider that the rest of what we know as the universe was not created until the 4th day; the sun, moon and stars. This would mean the Earth is the oldest thing in the universe. People think the light of that first day was the sun but this cannot be because it wasn’t created until the 4th day. Some say this was GOD being repetitive but this idea destroys the flow of the days HE gave. The first estate of the angels was the previous Earth in which one third of them left to ascend to GOD for the purpose of rebellion which failed and they were cast down on the Earth resulting in its devastation. The Genesis story picks up the narrative from there. People think I am crazy for saying this but that is par for the course so to speak. I get my information from someone that they do not know. Today men dig up bones and fossils of animals and vegetation from that original Earth and can determine that they are billions of years old, which is more correct than the 6,000 years idea. Science, if true will agree with scripture. Scripture says that when GOD speaks it is done, HE doesn’t wait for things because this would imply HE is limited by time, which HE is not. After repairing the damage caused by the angelic rebellion, on the 4th day, GOD spoke the rest of the universe into existence. Most people read the scriptures and gain next to nothing because they read with carnal thinking. A true Christian reads with spiritual thinking supplied by GOD to properly divide and comprehend the word of truth. Even the deep things of GOD can be understood by HIS elect saints.

The truth of GOD can only be known by the elected saints of GOD. The carnal world will call GODS truth foolishness. We can know even the deep things of GOD. By the way, the holy spirit is the FATHER. The FATHER is holy and is spirit and as Jesus said is the only true GOD. HE is the GOD and FATHER of Jesus and through Jesus our GOD too. These are hard things , impossible things for the world to comprehend.

The wisdom of GOD is foolishness.

It’s all very simple - and very easy to understand. Paul had no problem understanding the Gospel and thankfully neither do I

Very Good. Read what Moses and Paul say. They are the ones with real knowledge and they received their information directly from God. Their writings are very simple and clear. Very easy to understand
