When do ya think he will do that? [considering that was written about 1500- 2000 yrs ago]
Josephus describes some pretty "weird" stuff happening prior to the ad70 prophecied destruction of JerusalemHow do you as a preterist take what I understand you use to show fulfillment when the Lord when on earth said it is future.. Titus destroyed the Temple, but never sacrificed anything on the altar. That was Antiochus Epiphanes over 100 years before Christ that sacrificed a sow on the altar. Yeshua said the abomonation spoken by Daniel was future
Exactly. How do you as a preterist take what I understand you use to show fulfillment when the Lord when on earth said it is future.. But, do the apostate Jews of today understand thatExactly.
The Jews of Jesus' own day were calling the desecration of the temple by A.E. in 167 BC, a "desolating sacriledge" or "abomination causing desolation". Jesus is saying there would be a repeat of that in Israel's future. That has never yet occurred.
Wha!?! Jesus body was going to have a pig sacrificed upon it?!!?!? :oPerhaps the temple being spoken of is Jesus?
John 2:21
But the temple he had spoken of was his body.<snip>
Typical zionist hyper-futurist responseWha!?! Jesus body was going to have a pig sacrificed upon it?!!?!? :o
And how would the answer to that question, one way or the other, help us better exegete this passage from Matthew 24?But, do the apostate Jews of today understand that
Matthew 24:1-2.btw summa.....I noticed you voted partially fulfilled.
How much of Matthew 24 do view as fulfilled and how much of it still future?
Interesting!Matthew 24:1-2.
Any study of Matthew 24 in a vacuum divorced from Luke 21 will lead one to erroneous conclusions. The answer to this question is found in Luke 21. There is much more in Luke 21 than in Matthew 24, that is of a fulfilled nature.
Wha!?! Jesus body was going to have a pig sacrificed upon it?!!?!? :o
Isaiah 66:17 Those who consecrate and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one (deciever) who is among those who eat the flesh of pigs, rats and other unclean thingsthey will meet their end together with theHm? what do you mean?
Isaiah 66:3-4
3 But whoever sacrifices a bull
is like one who kills a person,
and whoever offers a lamb
is like one who breaks a dogs neck;
whoever makes a grain offering
is like one who presents pigs blood,
and whoever burns memorial incense
is like one who worships an idol.
They have chosen their own ways,
and they delight in their abominations;
4 so I also will choose harsh treatment for them
and will bring on them what they dread.
For when I called, no one answered,
when I spoke, no one listened.
They did evil in my sight
and chose what displeases me.
Sacrifices are over . once for all .
Isaiah 66:17 Those who consecrate and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one (deciever) who is among those who eat the flesh of pigs, rats and other unclean thingsthey will meet their end together with the
one they follow, declares YHVH."
There is no relationship between these two verses unless you think cannibalism is advocated via the Acts scripture you quoted. Peter saw it as it now being ok to associate with gentiles.Acts 10:15
And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
Yeah.....I share yer pain broI have to say the hermeneutical methods of ALL of you guys are all over the map! There is no way this conversation (if indeed it can be properly called that) can move in a forward direction until you all can declare and agree upon your hermeneutics. I might as well augur chicken guts as dicipher what you guys are trying to say.
I am sorry, I don't practice augury, nor do I read minds; once I can bring myself to do one or both of those things I'll be back to join in the fray! Until then...

You post a verse and that is a valid response? Oh!! Gee!!! I never read that verse before!!! I'm converted!!!! No. In fact we've all read all those verses before and did not walk away with your understanding, whatever that is! I do not read minds. You will have to explain yourself more.
