us too'On the confession of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,I baptise you in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit'.
I am part of an Assemblies of God church. We baptise in the Name of the Father,Son and Holy Spirit.
yep total immersion. Cecil was dedicated.AoG also baptise by total immersion and do not sprinkle adults or babies, Babies are dedicated to the Lord. Believers are baptised.
I don't condemn anyone, if that's the way their church teaches I don't argue but I still believe in baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.i attend a foursquare church that baptizes in the Name of Jesus, but they do not say that people who are baptized in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are wrong. i was saved in an Apostolic church so it is all the same to me.
we are all going to the same heaven if we believe!

why argue over something that doesn't save us anyway...seems pointless..that is a good question. the Bible does not say what John's baptism was, but i believe that i did read i Acts that there were some people who were baptized again.
in the Apostolic church we used to fight and condemn others so much about baptism that i stopped focusing on it. it is a commandment of God to be baptized, yes. to fight about it, No.

John the Baptizer would have been performing a Jewish Mikveh (ritual cleansing) more so than what we recognize as water baptism. As to the words used I am uncertain, but I am sure information about Mikvot is readily available online. Remember John "baptized unto repentence, but one would come after that would baptize in the Holy Ghost and Fire" Matthew 3:11I also attend an Aof G church in which we immerse the believer in water and baptise them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Something I have always wondered.... How did John the Baptist baptize people? What did he say? He couln't have said "In the name of Jesus" before Jesus came into the world so... how did he baptize?
