How does one become a saint?

I am speaking of humans. I do not care one iota of standard Christian belief. Israel believed 10 and spent 40 years in the wilderness for rejecting Joshua and Caleb. The power of orthodoxy. The book of Revelation in its entirity is yet future.

If you could find the connecting thoughts between those sentences I might be able to make some sense of them.

But probably not, given that you do not care about standard Christian belief, and I do.

It is an interesting thought, which we're looking at in the other thread.

The Church, long ago, in a Council, posthumously excommunicated from the Body certain Christians who observed things differently. The communion of saints may not be such as what we think.

I have never in my life put the term "saint" in front of anyone's name until now. Do you know why? It is to show that the rcc does not designate him a saint for obvious reasons. Many assume too much and elevate themselves and is the same as being a self-appointed vicar. Only God determines those who merit salvation.

We do not base judgment on a standard Christian belief. I base my belief on the solid Rock of Truth and not the shifting sands of human speculation. We take God at His Word.

One must be born again and washed in the blood of Jesus to become a saint. Works does not make one a saint. God does through His Son and His Spirit. Everyone that is in Christ is a Saint. This would include Martin Luther.

If you look to standard beliefs as your basis then put your Bible up:

That says....YOU ...study. Show thyself approved unto...GOD ....and not man. I am here to share and learn and not hang with the "crowd". Our fellowship is to be in the WORD and not some high-minded attitude conceived from the placement of the flesh.

It is Christ HIMSELF that is the Pillar and Ground of Truth.

This is not about a particular creed in which various "church fathers" instituted of which we make a choice to believe to be a Christian. Our faith is in the resurrection and ascension of our Saviour and that is the basis for salvation. Our is not a "1-2-3 repeat after me" standing in Christ. It is about our relationship with Him. That is all. To state otherwise is a doctrine of demons!

Aside from the creeds of which one has to choose we have this attitude here:

This is non standard Christian belief. Christ is NOT the only inhabitant of eternity. He is surrounded by the whole company of heaven; angels, archangels, principalities, powers, dominions etc, and saints.

See the Book of Revelation, inter alia, for further details.

This "standard belief" is stated on a false premise. The book of Revelation is yet future...ALL of it! It is wrongly dividing the Word of Truth when taking that which belongs in the future and applying to the present and by the same token taking that which belongs to the past and bringing it to the present. It spoils the witness.

Reconcile the statement of "standard belief" with:

20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

He now resides in the Heaven of Genesis 1:1. The heaven below was spread forth as a curtain for us to dwell in until one day He will subdue all things unto Himself so that He will be all in all.
The fall of lucifer necessitated this temporary state of being.
The position our calling holds in this dispensation is to be potentially seated with Him in that Glorious Zenith He took at His ascension.

It is this association with the ascended Lord that Paul was commissioned to be an apostle.

I am not going to involve myself in a discussion directly about the creed. Too many are quick to "report" when offended at the Truth. It has happened before...why should it stop now?

I never denied the Creed was incorrect or any errors in the words. I also must add...Are they (the creeds) dispensationally correct?

"Creed" simply means "I believe".

There are creeds outside the labeled creeds made by the "fathers".

I asked a member what would happen to me if I stated I did not believe in transsubstantiation when receiveing communion in his church. He said I would be counseled and receive a warning and if it happened again I would be passed by at the next event.
It would be expected that I conform to their "creed" to be a "Christian in good standing".

In the attempt to unite Christians through creeds a division has been set up. The tall separated from the short. The weak from the strong.
I am thankful the unitiy of the Spirit cannot be broken for this unity is based on assured Truth.

If we "rightly divide" the Word of Truth then unity will come to fruition.

I know of no where in Scriptures that show the creeds today are inspired.

God is NOT the author of confusion.
