• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Your score is: 19 points of 170 possible, 11%
The only reason why I scored positivly is because:

1. I'm not fond of a strong federal government, and apparantly they aren't either (So it's pretty ironic that they classify me as a socialist since I don't agree with the "biblical world-view").
2. I answered questions as they were given. And a lot of them basically amounted to: "If you already agreed with my world-view, would you agree with my world-view?" Yes, I guess.
3. I didn't say that I strongly disagreed or agreed, and apparantly you can't lose points if you do that.

I thought that the "Is George W. Bush President?" question was the funniest. If he loses the next election will you still lose points for answering no?

This test is complete ****. It should be called, "How well do you agree with my worldview". Don't they know that opinion tests have no right or wrong answers? Sheesh. Besides, who doesn't believe that Dubya is president?

Biological evolution (life from non-life to human beings) runs contrary to reason, science and history.

Yet another creationist who knows nothing of evolution.

:D What a *BS* "test."

Without even commenting on the many, poorly worded questions, this "test" rated me as a "Communist/Marxist/Socialist/Secular Humanist."

LOL... what a joke... I hate Communism and its derivatives. I follow Jeffersonian Democracy. I am a strict-interpretation U.S. Constituionalist. I believe in the Free-Market, George Washingtons's Foreign Entanglements Policy, and that the highest level of sovereignty is that of a State.

Wow. What a waste of time.

Bushido216 - I was born in the South, and moved to Chicago at 11.

After puzzling at your question for a few seconds, I think I know what your are getting at... I forgot that I was talking to non-political scientists. I wrote: "the highest level of sovereignty is that of a State." Please read this as: "the highest level of sovereignty is that of a Nation-State" (as opposed to international regimes).

If I am a product of anything, it is the literature of our Founding Fathers, John Locke, rights theory (natural and civic), and contract theory (social and private).

I do support the 9th and 10th Amendments. Both of these Amendments imply a weak federalism and strong state governments.

Boy. That was one of the most biased pieces of trash I've ever seen. So anyone who's a non-Christian theist, and thus doesn't believe the conservative Christians' God created the world, is a SECULARIST?

Riiiiiiight. And Phyllis Schlafly is an atheist, too.

I got a score of -35 or -20%, making me a Communist Humanist also. Ha! Loved those "Are you still beating your wife?" type questions. I would have gotton a better (lower) score if I hadn't put "no opinion" on whether or not Christians should do certain things. Heck, I don't know what various Christians think they should do (they never agree anyway) and don't really care what they do.

I love it that opinion questions have a correct answer and the correct answer is ALWAYS that you STRONGLY agree or disagree.

Actually those are not THE "tell-tale signs" of the Southron.

Actually there are differences. Two of the most important are that I support secular government and the Union. Support for either Madisonian or Jeffersonian Democracy is widespread. You will find supporters in every geographic region of the United States. Ideologically, figures as diverse as Noam Chomsky and Ronald Reagan, to Ralph Nader support the tenets of these philosophies.

How anyone can deride the political philosophy of the Founding Fathers is beyond me, unless you desire to live in an authoritarian despotism. Check your keyboard and make sure you were not spitting venom when you typed your message.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.

Why did you PM that to me if you were going to post it here?

I'll try to repeat what I said in my PM, but I can't be sure that it'll be verbatum.

I couldn't find a better word for it than "Southdom" (not "Southron", I'm not sure where you got that, but I just noticed it), at least one that wouldn't be long and multi-worded.

Regardless, it was a simple statement of fact. You have many of the political views that mark the South. What I said was akin to saying that many Bostoners have Boston accents and that New York is a democratic state.

We're not. The Democrats only recently gained mayorship in my town, after a 37 year lockout. The previous Republican Mayor misappropraited funds, watched the FBI launch an investigation of the police department, and the race was still close.

Oh, you mean the city. Yeah, there's no few democrats, like noted New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani a famous democrat or... oh wait... yeah. There's democrats here, certainly, but your generalization stinks.
