I used to dismiss it all as a hoax until I realized that scientists were pretty unanimous in their belief that humans are driving the upward temperature trend. What do they reasonably stand to gain by lying about it? This being said, I don't buy into the various doomsday predictions proposed by many a climate false "prophet". The "steps we should take" are common sense anyway like polluting less and recycling and pursuing renewable energy (with a bit of help from the good ol' free market). Period.

This "upward" temp trend is MINISCULE. It is hyped. The scientists that are shouting climate panic are a vocal few. The real scientists are not in agreement. The graph predictions are inaccurate, there is disagreement, only they are Not allowed to disagree.
This world is not going to end by environmental disaster.

Slightly warmer every year and even the ocean is warming. How do I know this? Because we are losing the Great Barrie Reef to warm water bleaching events.

They just reported that the Ocean around Nova Scotia... is cooler than usual.
"Slightly warmer every year"? Oh, until the big pause that just happened. Not to mention that the earth does go through "Solar Maximums" when the sun is a little hotter... which just ended. Now we are heading to a "Solar Minimum"..

We live stream on mobile phones now television is caveman technology.

So, you watch everything on a 2.5 inch x 5 inch screen? Be serious.. they are producing larger and more clear TV's all the time.. Soon they will be so clear that our vision will not be able to fully appreciate the difference. "Caveman technology" I don't think so.. Still don't last long.

The factories that build in a life span for an appliance do it for profit and employment. Lot's of people earn a living from that inbuilt shorter life span of appliances. Not to mention the retailers, govt sales taxes, e.t.c.

So, it's ok to build a product that is engineered to die after the warranty expires... and it goes to the landfill.. Not to mention all the CO2 created in the production of the raw material, electrical components, delivery, operation of a warehouse and store, driving to pick it up and then the disposal..

Kinda hypocritical.... I think.

Throwing away old appliances is a necessary evil in a global economy.

It's OK to throw stuff away, to support the economy.. but not affordable heat, electricity, transportation, cooking and all the other things that are going to be held as the holy grail of CO2 emissions...
Seriously...... you need to keep on track... Those appliances need metal that is mined, smelted, forged, welded, soldered, wrapped, packed, transported... all creating the dreaded...........CO2 ugh.

We need to throw away everything and keep consuming, otherwise all our economies will shut down.

Then, I will keep on driving my car, using my gas range, gas water heater, gas furnace, gas bbq, because... that also creates jobs, employment and the economy running.

Face it... to stop the dreaded.... CO2... we need to stop TV, Stop Laundry machines, Stop cars, stop heating, stop electrical generation... all the things that use your coveted appliances.
Essentially back to horse and buggy... wait.. they have gas... scratch that.. better walk.

The age old problem is the economic reality that we must accept. We must consume.

But not consume fossil fuels... right? Everything else is OK if it keeps the economy running.

I don't know whether man-made climate change is real, but in either case I don't see any issue with trying to preserve the environment. I like old trees, fresh air, clean water, diverse animal life, rich soil, and nutritious fruits and vegetables & would like to see them all protected.

The last fifty years of temperature recording have been very accurate. Even with only fifty years of data the rise in temperature is beyond debate.

We have weather stations out in the countryside and they are not affected by air conditioning or car parks.

Farms cause deforestation.

Growing populations need to be fed.

Actually attention is being draw away from the fact old school pollution from American interests and others in China is sooting over the Arctic and melting it. Any pollution referred to nowadays is invisible gas, and nothing that would have the same panic effect on people as visible pollution would (and did decades back). The younger generation are addicted to their phones mainly because of social media and games.

The young don't spend too much time watching tv.

Five hundred million is way too big a population for the earth. The reason is that mankind breeds to quickly and in a few centuries we are firmly back into the billions of people.

The world population must be reduced far more dramatically than 500 million. I would reduce it down to a million people at most.

It does matter because the socialist/communist left is using the Environment & climate crisis as a basis to get into power. When governments and I'm talking progressive radical left governments get more control they don't give it back, they don't get smaller they get bigger, big government tax more not less, the regulations become stricter, people loose individual rights and freedoms. The majority of people are way to gullible and think with more global government regulations it will lead to a utopia, well --that's not going to happen.
