To a point.
He certainly makes it miserable to obey in that regard though.
Like I said, it's like if the bible expressly forbid you from scratching an itch on your back, and you pray but the itch doesn't actually go away you're just able to not give into the temptation to scratch the itch.

If you think like that, just in my humble opinion you may have some spiritual problems related to sex, because is not normal to think that way, and i'm saying this because I thought exactly like that before being delivered from some spiritual problems that didn't let me quit sexual sin. I'm still trying to quit all.

it's less about satisfying the desire for me and more about dealing with the biological need.
maybe I need my prostate checked, I dunno, I am 40 now, and my grandfather did have prostate cancer.
What I hate is the resulting wet dreams that inevitably happen. The interrupted sleep, the having to do laundry and well.. it's just gross.

It won't happen over night but it can be achieved, here's how I've done it. In order to put out the flame of lust you must first stop adding fuel to the fire. You must quit porn all lewd/arousing media for good, remind yourself to resist temptation James 1:12

Rather than seeing yourself as someone quitting porn simply tell yourself that you don't watch porn. Tell yourself audibly or in your head "No, I don't watch porn" every time you feel tempted. You will fail at first but remember that we are not perfect and all our present and future sins have already been forgiven. No need to be hard on yourself if you fail, simply get up and try again until the flame is out for good. Pray for Jesus to help you and give you the strength to overcome temptation Ephesians 6:11

There is a battle between the flesh and the spirit. The Apostle Paul spoke of himself as a wretched man and said, “who can save me from this body of death”.

The War Within: Flesh Versus Spirit

You need to read all of Romans chapter 8 very carefully, it ties in with Romans 7.

Ch 7 was about the unregenerate Paul before He met Jesus as his savior, 8 is after.

To be saved requires more than just believing in Jesus - we also must choose to repent of our sins as part of our conversion so that our sins are forgiven (Acts 3:19 - Acts 20:21) - but we can’t pre-repent of future sins - thus scripture is clear that only OLD sins and PAST sins are forgiven at salvation - not future sins:

2Pe 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was PURGED from his OLD SINS.

Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to bea propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of SINS THAT ARE PAST through the forbearance of God;

So hyper-grace doctrine which claims all sins: past, present, and future sins, are forgiven at salvation, is wrong.

Future sins must be repented of as we commit them, to be forgiven.

That’s why the apostle wrote:

1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us oursins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The apostle included himself, indicating he’s talking to believers, and not to the unconverted, as further shown by the fact he had just written THIS, before verse 9:

1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

1Jn 1:7 But IF we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

And Jesus told believers in churches in Revelation that they needed to repent of their sins.

The temptation is from extremely attractive women in my life and work (all married or in a relationship btw) and they all wear form fitting clothes all the time. Its pretty rough.

Regardless when I go home, I am constantly being given sexual thoughts... no matter how many times I ask Jesus to take them away.

Weight lifting definitely makes me more horny.

What way can we defeat sexual thoughts besides giving into them? Is it my fault I have these constant thoughts?

Why isnt the Holy Ghost removing these things from my life? Does He want me to be constantly tempted and tested 24/7? Does He want me to castrate myself, since this desire is built in and apparently wont go away? I would be cool with that, because it is really aggravating.

All other sins are easy to defeat because you just dont lie to steal or whatever and the temptation is defeated and goes away. Sexual temptation is constant and I've never been able to make it go away for more than a minute.

I think I can help you out.

First of all, make sure you’ve been born again, and saved, by asking Jesus to come into your heart, forgive your sins, save your soul, and make you a new creation.

Then, please understand you can’t pray away being tempted, because scripture promises us that we will be tempted, but are without excuse for sinning, because with every temptation, there is a way of escape:

1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

I’ve struggled just like you, in the past, and I’ve discovered that the closer you get to God, the less you sin.

Start the day with prayer. Say Good morning to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

When you’re praying, ask God to deliver you from the spirit of lust that Satan is oppressing you with

Read the Bible 20 mins a day - something about reading God’s word regularly gets you closer to God.

Stay in the New Testament until you’ve read through it about ten times.

Good luck, and God bless.

Paul makes clear that after we have been saved, there is a continuing conflict between our wanting to walk in the flesh, (that wants us to live in sin)- and our desire to walk after the Holy Spirit that now dwells in us - and Paul warns that choosing to live in sins (works of the flesh), will keep us out of heaven:

Gal 5:16 ThisI say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Gal 5:18 But IF ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Gal 5:19 Now the WORKS OF THE FLESH are manifest, which are these;Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell YOU again, as I have also told youin time past, that they which DO such things shall NOT inherit the kingdom of God.

Paul warns us over and over, that if we believers choose to walk after the flesh, we will die spiritually - but if we choose to walk after the spirit, we will have everlasting life:

Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is DEATH, but to be spiritually minded is LIFE and peace.

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is ENMITY against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Verse 8:7 above, having a carnal mind is ENMITY against God, meaning you actually become Gods ENEMY.

Will God let His enemies into heaven?

Jas 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is ENMITY with God? whosoever therefore will be a FRIEND OF THE WORLD is the ENEMY of God.

The verse above says sexual sins and being worldly, makes you Gods ENEMY.

Will God welcome His enemies into heaven?

We are expected and required as believers, to live the most sinless life we can, and to repent when we know we’ve sinned.

Shalom.

I am constantly tempted sexually. I pray to the Lord in Jesus name that He take this temptation away from me at least a time... but it never leaves.

Any advice?

It won't go away, it is simply a part of life.

I also deal with strong sexual temptation. I have always been a womanizer, worshiper of the woman form and personality if you will, so now as a married man I am tempted daily, sometimes hourly with desire, thoughts, lust, ect....

In my experience with our Father, I have found that I have tried to be perfect but we are a fallen being. My eyes wonder, my thoughts wonder...but it is in repentance and prayer where we shall remain until we are one day resurrected from these fallen vessels.

Stay strong brother. You will find great strength some days and vast weakness on other days, fear not because the Lord is with you always.

But Christ said to forgive seventy times seven which basically means an unlimited amount of times. So in Christ there is forgiveness. If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

How's your quiet time? Are you nurturing your relationship with God? A strong relationship takes time but is one that i believe is key to overcoming temptation. As the beauty you behold and the pleasure you experience in a relationship with Christ grows, temptation will become less and less attractive. Here's an article that helps me to be mindful of the big picture and what's really important: https://www.boundless.org/adulthood/sexuality/whats-the-purpose-of-sexuality-if-im-single/
Hope this helps. Let me know how you're doing :)

Time was a man could buy a packet of peanuts or a can of bean without a bikini clad lady being printed onto the cover. Not anymore :tearsofjoy:

True - the marketing that comes in at the corners and sideways is on billboards it is not ninja style adds that can show up just looking for a location on a map online.

The answer is not "make sure no temptation confronts you" but rather the 1 Cor 10 promise of God that He provides the way of escape for whatever He allows to confront you due to no fault of your own.

9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen

Resist, while waiting on God to do the rest.
