  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How can the grace of God be resisted by some yet received by others?

John 6:37
All that the Father gives Me

will come to Me,

and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

What is it about "All that the Father gives me" that people don't understand?

It is wonderfully joyful to know the Father chooses and gives them to the Son.

All that God chooses absolutely come to Jesus and the Son never tosses them away.

It is great to read God's promises to his elect. Can I get an Amen!

But you said you didn't 'come' to Jesus, so God didn't give you to Him.

It's interesting when people stop reading what John 3:37 says.

The Father (God) gives to the Son (God).

After that, the ones chosen by God the Father, come to the Son.

Yes, after God chose me, I came to follow Yeshua.

God chose me. I come to Yeshua after that.

It is the only way the Bible describes it. God makes dead people come alive then they follow Yeshua.

I love God's ways and His word. John 3:37 is a great verse. I am very glad the Ew and TBL shared it for us.

You said you DIDN'T 'come' to Jesus. Which is it?

Jesus said you 'come' to Him to have life. How is it you by-passed what Jesus said?

I answered.

God chose. God made me alive. I follow Yeshua.

That is what John 3:37 says. Thanks for sharing a great verse that makes my point for me.

I can't help you if you cannot follow that sequence outlined in the Bible.

God choses.
God makes us alive.
We respond and follow Yeshua.

Again, no evidence ?
Perhaps there's a difficulty in the software or english perception that the rest of us cannot see ?

Lemonade, read the sign, lemonade. You are the one acting difficult.

Here is his post #1297 -

Many passages have been shared by those who let God speak about choosing His children. There is nothing left to be said. God is good and His word is clear. I am at peace. God has redeemed me, a sinner who never willfully came to Him. No, God came to me and saved me. I am eternally grateful.

Any more false accusations?

You have it wrong and you know it.

John 6:45
It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard (1) and learned (2) from the Father comes to Me (3).

You hear and learn first, then 'come' to Him for life.

I've already given you the meaning for 'learn', but I'm sure you trampled it underfoot by now.

The verse YOU shared says God chooses and gives them to the Son, then we follow. It is right in the verse you quoted. Now you say that the verse is stating things backward. I cannot help you if you claim God's word is backward.

John 6:37-39
[37]However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them.
[38]For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will.
[39]And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day.

It should be noted, I meant John 6:37, not John 3:37. There is no 37th verse in John 3.

And you turn right around and start accusing me. I see how you are.

I willfully 'came' to Him in order to have life. Why does that bother you? If you are unwilling to 'come' to Him, you will not have life. For your information, that is God's word.

How does one 'come' to Him if not willingly? How does one have life if they are unwilling to 'come' to Him?

Have you willingly 'come' to Him in order to have life? Yes or No!

Where does it say 'God chooses'?

How does the Father give them to Yeshua if God did not choose them? Choice is obviously implied in the verse.

I know you claim to have chosen to follow God and you truly believe it. You can continue to believe that if you want. You just can't get it from John 6:37. John 6:37 presents God's choice first before you ever follow. Give God His due praise in choosing you who, like me, were never worthy of His gracious choice, yet He chose you anyway.

You really can't make the point that you follow the Bible if your not listing out supporting BIBLE verses in your post. What you are really doing is sharing your opinion
