Peter is not worried one bit about the elect perishing, how do you get that idea?
The idea is one of confidence of salvation as Peter says, God is not willing they perish.
So they do not perish, it is not His will.
No.Did Cyrus please God when he obeyed God?
They can't. Hence, Peter's comment. This is my question as well. If one has been predestined/preordained by God to salvation, how could they ever be lost?
I didn't. Read on.
They can't. Hence, Peter's comment.
.Because he changed God's Word. And this is why I didn't explain it. Even though Skala adequately explained the reasoning, you didn't engage with what he said. Rather, you dismissed it as if he had said nothing.
No.If all have faith from God, then all will saved since we are justified by faith.
.Because he changed God's Word.
Every time I see that someone has changed God's Word I ignore it. If someone does that, IMHO, I do not trust their words and have to double-check everything they say. It's too much work, hence I skip it and conversate with someone who does not do that.
I think many people do that. It's just not worth all the work
Not hard to believe that the betrayal of our Lord was prophesied. Not hard to believe that Judas was chosen because he was a money hungry thief. John 12:5-6. Not hard to believe that he was given the job of treasurer in charge of the money bag.As for Judas, him being foretold by prophecy as recorded in scripture, then yes must have been predestined.
What happened is what God had predestined to occur. Why is that so hard to believe?
Non sequitur. Seriously, don't you tire of that? What is Truth to you? Is not only one word from Jesus the Truth?
Okay.Again Hammster, this wasn't written to you. So God may be willing that you perish.
Or, we could take sdowney's words and it mean the false brethren.
If I remember correctly, he added the word 'elect' into a verse about Jesus death for sin. What words in particular?
Do you ever read bible commentary? Do you find other words used to clarify the meaning? How about a sermon? Do they just read the text or do they talk about it too?
You can think about it for as long or short as you'd like. But it has nothing to do with the question I asked. How long does one have to think about 'WHOEVER'?
Nobody's.Then whose words did you add?

imo....
He had an opportunity to no longer be a thief, but because he had harden his heart through sin he had no desire to change, and so he was a vessel prepared for satan to use.
He didn't change it. He explained the context. Context is very important to correct understanding. Much like John uses the word "world" in various ways. Without context, you could easily come to the wrong conclusion about what he's saying..Because he changed God's Word.
