I just know.
And I just know it isn't.

If God wanted us to know what shape the earth was, he would have told us - loud and clear, in the Bible.
You, yourself, have admitted that flat earth cannot be proved from the Bible.
I dont want the the world to be deceived anymore than it has to.
Deceived about what?
What difference will it make if non Christians believe in a flat earth?
What difference will it make that Christians believe in a globe earth?
I know this, but if you thoght your salvation depended on it would you believe it then ?
My salvation doesn't depend on it; no one's does.
And if people think otherwise, they need to be taught properly.

You have to recognize that falsehoods like the Flat Earth idea, which does not even constitute a hypothesis, let alone a theory, which have been so thoroughly debunked, are harmful, and that God does not want you to believe something that could endanger you, for example, if you were navigating, since you would be unable to understand concepts like the Great Circle Route.

Or alternately, take up the 747 pilot Kelsey (74Gear on YouTube) on his offer to charter an aircraft full of flat earthers and fly from Buenos Aires to Perth, a routing which would take radically less time over the South Pole, and thus would rebuke the absurd idea that Antarctica has an ice wall.

One common falsehood we see from flat Earthers is the claim that airlines do not operate direct flights between cities in the Southern hemisphere, but that is not true; if you look at flight tracker, and also review airline schedules, you will see such routes. For example, in recent years there have been non-stop flights offered between Australia, New Zealand and Chile, between Buenos Aires and Cape Town or Jo’burg, and between Jo’burg and Perth (due to Perth being the center of the mining industry and South Africa being a transport hub to the large mining sector in that country and neighboring countries such as Namibia). And there are also business jets which fly these routes, so if you look at a flight tracking service, you should periodically see aircraft on routes that the Flat Earath community claims are impossible.

So recognizing the falsehood of this, and considering that Jesus Christ literally is Truth, that as the divine Logos, He is Reason and He is Logic, it is in my view entirely wrong for a Christian to advocate for an idea that is as readily falsifiable as the “Flat Earth” nonsense. It also hurts the faith, by convincing people outside of the Christian religion that Christians are not intellectually capable.

I would also note that whereas Scripture does not actually teach a flat Earth, Muhammed did explicitly teach that the world was flat; he falsely claimed, against the known wisdom of the era, that the disappearance of ships at the horizon was an optical illusion, which was as absurd then as it is now (ships should instead in a flat Earth vanish towards ever-distant points: this is the difference between a truly flat plane and a curved one such as the beautiful blue Earth God has given us).

Instead, you should embrace prayer and rejoice in the glory of God’s creation.

I do everyday, but I hate to tell you, God did not create a spinning ball earth, he created a beautiful stationary level earth with the heavens above.

You don't hate to tell us; you often tell us.
But your "truth" is on such shaky ground that the only way you can back it up is by finding clips on YouTube which, you say, support your position. It probably takes time to search for all of these.

If you want to break your addiction to conspiracy theories - for which I admire you; simply stop doing that and contributing to threads on conspiracy theories.
You fervently believe in a flat earth and won't be convinced otherwise. Fine. So get on with your life.
Stop trying to get "you guys to see it" - it's not going to happen.

According to the stats on your profile, you have written over 1,700 posts on these forums.
How many of those have been about conspiracy theories; promoting, or commenting, on them?
How many have been about your church, your Christian faith, something you've learnt from the Bible or a question you have about a particular passage or doctrine?
I believe you said somewhere that you have read the whole Bible many times - great! Why not try to help those who haven't or who want to know the best way to read it? Why not write a devotion, prayer or something edifying?

Why not just ignore the conspiracy theories forum?
You've even posted your, very sensible, question about conspiracy theories in this forum. Why not post it in "General Theology" or "asking for advice"?

I am here to tell Gods truth to which God has laid heavily on my heart. The other night I prayed to God & asked him if I should give up posting on here about F/E, the very next morning I received a private message on here telling me not to give posting on the subject.

I must admit not many.

I have read the Bible many times, but according to you guys I don't understand the Bible properly.

Basically all you posted on the subject have been proven false. Why does somebody want you to continue posting false information? Think about it.

I have thought about it & it's because it is the truth, it is NASA who are lying to everyone.

So you claim, but your claims contradict evidence and you repeatedly posted falsified materials, even pure lies. Accusing millions of people is easy as a pie for you, too.

Therefore, its not truth. And it stopped to be even ethical long time ago.

I am here to tell Gods truth to which God has laid heavily on my heart.
Other theories aside, a flat earth is not God's truth.

Think about it.
You, yourself, have admitted that a flat earth is not taught in the Bible. So if this doctrine is truth and God really wants us to know it, why didn't he put it in?
Did he forget?
Did he not realise how important it was until people pointed it out to him?

You are telling us that a particular teaching is "God's truth"; it isn't in the Bible but you know it is because you "feel" it?
Firstly, claiming knowledge of truth that isn't in the Bible is what cults do. Moonies, JWs, Christian Scientists etc claim that their leaders had inside knowledge; God told them truth that isn't in his word.
Secondly, if this doctrine were truth it could be confirmed. Flat earthers would be saying; "X is true because the earth is flat; check it out." Or "if the earth is flat you should be able to do/see this - try it and see." And globe earthers would then have to say, "oh yes, you're right; that does happen." If this doctrine were God's truth, people would be able to see it, test it, find it to be correct - and it would point to Jesus.
Jesus IS Truth and has given us the Spirit of Truth. If flat earth were from God and was true it would point to Jesus - in fact, Jesus, THE Truth, would probably have taught it. He came to tell us God's truth.

But none of that happens.
As I've said before, I can't argue science. But many people here can and the FE threads are full of people saying "X won't work on a flat earth", or "if you can see Y it is because the earth is curved." So what you're "teaching" about a flat earth - supposedly God's truth - does not stack up.
Secondly, this does not point to Jesus, God or teach the Gospel. Jesus, the Truth, did not teach it and even you have agreed that it has nothing to do with salvation.

The other night I prayed to God & asked him if I should give up posting on here about F/E, the very next morning I received a private message on here telling me not to give posting on the subject
Sorry, but that means nothing.
A real person wrote that message to you - someone who wants to see the FE theory promoted. God didn't write it.
God is not being glorified by you posting about a flat earth. I have even seen atheists disagreeing with you and saying it is nonsense. According to you, if atheists believed it, they would start to read the Bible and there would be many conversions.

I must admit not many.
So it's a vicious circle then.
You are asking how you can give up an addiction to conspiracy theories, write many threads/posts on conspiracy theories and even post your plea for help in a conspiracy theory forum.

I have read the Bible many times, but according to you guys I don't understand the Bible properly.
You seem to take every word of the Bible literally, when it was not all meant to be taken literally.
Or at least, you take literally any verses which seem to support your theory about the shape of the world, moon or state of the universe.
No one should have a theory, or pet doctrine, and then seek to find verses/words to support it. We are supposed to be shaped, and changed, by God's word; not use it at a tool to verify our own ideas.
I wrote a post recently about studying the Bible, considering the genre used, the background, the context and what the recipients would have understood by the words.
You dismissed it as "this nonsense."

If you were serious about studying the Bible, as opposed to reading the words, you would look at Bible maps, commentaries, books that teach about how life was at the time - and so on.

You have posted no evidence at all for this monstrous claim that thousands of people are all lying to you.
You have found a few YouTube clips made by likeminded folk - but they prove nothing.
As I've said before, if what you claim ever got to a court of law, it would be dismissed in minutes. Your only arguments being "fake", "lies", "cuz they are" and a lot of laughing emojis.

I'm not so sure life was as it said in the bible, remember the cities that were built & Solomon's temple & the temple Jesus entered into ?
Just for curiosity how did they build them ?

You quarry stones, and then stonemasons cut the stones so they fit together and may also use mortar, and if I recall there was also some carpentry using the famed cedars of Lebanon, which are super-strong, beautiful trees much prized throughout the Levant. And then more ornate details were worked by various types of craftsmen.

Relatively speaking, the Temple, while impressive and beautiful, was not extremely challenging, unique or unusual with regards to religious structures from antiquity and the difficulty building them. Much less of a chore than say, the Ziggurat of Ur or the pyramids of Egypt.

The temple in Jesus' day was not Solomon's temple. That was destroyed when the Jews were in exile in Babylon.
In John 2:20 they said "it has taken 46 years to build this temple" - so it was fairly new.

In the book of Genesis it tells us that Cain went off & built a city and called after his son Enoch.

Even today we can't replicate such buildings as Windsor castle & some of these castles spread across Europe.

I'm questioning the time line for the Biblical era.

It seems to me, just going by this thread, that you tend to get distracted easily... stray off topic. I'm not sure if this is common or not for you?
What I mean by that, is that you started off this thread (seemingly) asking for help, even though it's in the Conspiracy Theory Forum, but you've quickly moved on to discussing conspiracy theories.

Not sure what to make of all of that... I'm not sure if you're serious about dealing with what you refer to as your addiction?

How can I stop myself being addicted to conspiracies ?

Ever since I was a kid I've rebelled against authority & I love to join all the dots.
I was only 10 years old when I tried to join the dots concerning the book of Revelation.

As I grew older I would buy any conspiracy book I could get my hands on & even joined forums such as 'David Icke' which was wrong as most members on there are far from being Christians.

It was only when I discovered that earth is flat that I truly became a Christian & have read the Bible numerous of times, & the fact that I should be dead right now if God hadn't give me a second chance.

I have truly prayed about my addiction but God has truly laid it on my heart heavy about the shape of the earth.

I thank you for listening to me :praying:

Yes - It does make one wonder who built them & how.

Not really, no. The Ziggurat of Ur was built by the Mesopotamians, and the Pyramids were built by the Egyptians.

Forgive me, but the dots you claim to be joining do not appear from my end to exist. If you are serious about not wanting to be, in your words, addicted to conspiracies or conspiracy theories, many Christian members of the forum would be happy to help.
