I am here to tell Gods truth to which God has laid heavily on my heart.
Other theories aside, a flat earth is
not God's truth.
Think about it.
You, yourself, have admitted that a flat earth is not taught in the Bible. So if this doctrine is truth and God really wants us to know it, why didn't he put it in?
Did he forget?
Did he not realise how important it was until people pointed it out to him?
You are telling us that a particular teaching is "God's truth"; it isn't in the Bible but you know it is because you "feel" it?
Firstly, claiming knowledge of truth that isn't in the Bible is what cults do. Moonies, JWs, Christian Scientists etc claim that their leaders had inside knowledge; God told them truth that isn't in his word.
Secondly, if this doctrine were truth it could be confirmed. Flat earthers would be saying; "X is true because the earth is flat; check it out." Or "if the earth is flat you should be able to do/see this - try it and see." And globe earthers would then have to say, "oh yes, you're right; that does happen." If this doctrine were God's truth, people would be able to see it, test it, find it to be correct - and it would point to Jesus.
Jesus IS Truth and has given us the Spirit of Truth. If flat earth were from God and was true it would point to Jesus - in fact, Jesus, THE Truth, would probably have taught it. He came to tell us God's truth.
But none of that happens.
As I've said before, I can't argue science. But many people here can and the FE threads are full of people saying "
X won't work on a flat earth", or "if you can see
Y it is because the earth is curved." So what you're "teaching" about a flat earth - supposedly God's truth - does not stack up.
Secondly, this does not point to Jesus, God or teach the Gospel. Jesus, the Truth, did not teach it and even you have agreed that it has nothing to do with salvation.
The other night I prayed to God & asked him if I should give up posting on here about F/E, the very next morning I received a private message on here telling me not to give posting on the subject
Sorry, but that means nothing.
A real person wrote that message to you - someone who wants to see the FE theory promoted. God didn't write it.
God is not being glorified by you posting about a flat earth. I have even seen atheists disagreeing with you and saying it is nonsense. According to you, if atheists believed it, they would start to read the Bible and there would be many conversions.
So it's a vicious circle then.
You are asking how you can give up an addiction to conspiracy theories, write many threads/posts on conspiracy theories and even post your plea for help in a conspiracy theory forum.
I have read the Bible many times, but according to you guys I don't understand the Bible properly.
You seem to take every word of the Bible literally, when it was not all meant to be taken literally.
Or at least, you take literally any verses which seem to support your theory about the shape of the world, moon or state of the universe.
No one should have a theory, or pet doctrine, and then seek to find verses/words to support it. We are supposed to be shaped, and changed, by God's word; not use it at a tool to verify our own ideas.
I wrote a post recently about studying the Bible, considering the genre used, the background, the context and what the recipients would have understood by the words.
You dismissed it as "this nonsense."
If you were serious about studying the Bible, as opposed to reading the words, you would look at Bible maps, commentaries, books that teach about how life was at the time - and so on.
