How can I help?

Hello, I would just like to ask for some advice. I posted something similar on the prayer requests page and this is about the same person. My friend has been trying to give something up which he started about 3 years ago, and has had limited success. He told me recently, and I have been doing my best to help him stop, for he feels that he is doing wrong by God, and feels bad also that he is going against God's wishes. Although I'm sure that many have prayed for him on the prayer requests page, he is not changing, but has in fact become 'comfortable' with his problem. Despite my efforts, I can't help but feel that I have failed him, and failure is something which I do not take lightly. I would just like to ask if there was any advice anyone could give me, and also that you continue praying for him.

Here are things you can do.

Be a Christian friend. Be there for him, and yet keep it a biblical friendship... do not share or even give off the impression that you support anything sinful that he does or says.

Pray continually.

Have faith in your God. He has a purpose for what He does. If nothing is happening it neither means God isn't nor doesnt mean to do anything. He is wise beyond our comprehension. Realize this and realize that you may not understand or see what God is doing and realize that God is doing what He knows needs to be done.
