The medical procedures they are use are not "abortions." Abortions are done in abortion clinics. In hospitals a pregnancy is terminated, but not all "terminations" result in dead babies. And in the case of medical necessities, terminating a pregnancy is not considered, in the medical field, to be an abortion. For example an ectopic pregnancy, which is hazardous to the mother, is terminated by removing the fallopian tube. That is not an abortion.

An abortion has ONE purpose. It's purpose is to murder the baby. Murder is against the law. But calling "abortion" removes that moral stigma attached to murder. It treats the baby as a non-human entity that is removed like it is a tumor.

No one goes to an abortion clinic to save the mother's life. Abortions at a clinic are convenience abortions. They are there because the woman got pregnant, and abortion is seen as a form of birth control. It is for convenience purposes only.

If a pregnancy is truly hazardous to the mother, it can be terminated medically and in some cases, both lives can be saved, but this only done in hospitals. No respectable doctor performs "abortions."
About 4 percent take place in hospitals.
Shifting the terminology around does not make your case.

That's only of value if you read them and follow the detailed instructions on how and when to do it.
Data mining scripture is rarely useful unless basic hermetical principles are applied. These principles are:
1) Scripture is the best interpreter of Scripture.
2) Texts of Scripture must be interpreted in context (both immediate & broad contexts).
3) No text of Scripture (properly interpreted in its context) will contradict another text of Scripture. When contradictions seem to exist, it is the task of the interpreter to explain the seeming contradiction. He must never seek to do so by ignoring or denying any part of the truth that is revealed in Scripture.
4) We must derive normative theological doctrine from didactic passages that deal with a particular doctrine explicitly.
A. We must never use implicit teaching to contradict explicit teaching.
B. We must never use implications from hortatory or historical passages to contradict explicit teachings from didactic or doctrinal passages.
5) We must avoid the temptation to impose systematic theological definitions on biblical terms. In addition, we need to rid ourselves of the notion that biblical writers concerned themselves with providing solutions for theological questions that did not arise until much later in Church history. (E.g., at times, we may be guilty of giving the impression that Paul’s chief concern was to defend Calvinism against the onslaught of five point Arminianism). Though we must seek to apply biblical truth to current controversies, we must not assume that there can be a perfect match between these controversies and those the biblical writers faced.
6) We must not assume that biblical writers used terms uniformly.
7) We must realize the variety of perspectives from which the biblical writers approached the explication of God’s truth. We may understand what a passage means only when we approach it from the author’s perspective.

It is limited to fellow church members, then you confront them face to face, then with elder supervision, and always gently and in humility. Rarely unsupervised.
Apparently, John the Baptist was in violation of God's will then. Do you think John then deserved his beheading? Furthermore, how then do you expect to share the Gospel. A very important part of the Gospel is exposing the sin in people's lives and showing them their need for a savior. If you cannot tell them they need saving, why would they think they need a savior?

Biblical reference please.

Judging yourself is hard enough.
Forget about having the brains for judging others.

Matthew 7:1-5
John 7:24
James 4:11-12
Romans 2:1-3
Ephesians 4:29

Romans 14:1-13
As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
John 8:7
Titus 3:2-7

James 1:26
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.
Luke 6:31
Proverbs 31:9
Open your mouth, judge righteously (by defending) the rights of the poor and needy.

Luke 6:37-42
“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” He also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

Matthew 6:14-15
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Romans 12:16-19
Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Galatians 6:1
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.

Galatians 5:14
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

John 3:17
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; ...

Why can we then not eliminate murder altogether and legalize all and any killing of human life?

Jeremiah 31:31-34
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

So legalizing all and any killing of human life would eliminate murder? I am not sure what you are saying with this scripture. Because I asked if all killing was legalized, would that eliminate murder (based on your definition of murder)? So please explain how this scripture answers the question. Also, I thought we talked about data mining scripture to cherry pick verses out of context.

In passages about sin. No more me cherry picking scripture for you.

What Does the Bible Say About Sin?
Did you read the verses you looked up? Many of them provide specific actions that are considered sinful. Some provide a long list! Not one verse says that it is only sin if you decide it. Sin is anything that goes against God will or purpose. Sin is anything that separates you from Him. God alone determines and decides what is sin and what isnt. No you. Otherwise, a psychopath would not be sinning when they murder an innocent child because they are incapable of feeling remorse or guilt. Again, sin is an affront to God alone. Which is why only God can forgive sins. God tells us what is sin through His word, aka the Bible. The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin after it is exposed by the word. Scripture is explicitly clear that that murder is sin and that life in the womb is precious and as valuable as any other human life. Thus, abortion is a sin, the sin of murder.

Do you have children? How do you teach them the difference between right and wrong if you are cannot "judge" by telling them what they are doing is right or wrong? Your children are supposed to figure it out for themselves...right? Have you had a chance to talk to your pastor? What did he say? There are many people who are far more knowledgeable on these topics than you or I will ever be. They have written books on this topic. Have you read any of them? Would you read them? Or are topical searches on "Open Bible" the extent of your research?

As a Christian, I believe that abortion is sinful and immoral in most cases, and that women should not be doing it.

However, I do not equate it to outright murder, and I am pro-choice until viability, as these are women who will be having to make a decision whether to bear a child or not—which is a big decision for anyone to make.

If a women pays $500 for an abortion when she is four months pregnant, is it morally the same thing as a woman who pays a hitman $500 to kill her four-month-old infant after she has grown tired of caring for the baby?

No, it is not. The latter is murder, but the former just is not murder. To be fully consistent, I would have to say both acts constitute murder of a child, but I don't believe that, and once I realized that, I switched from being anti-abortion to pro-choice.

The fetus is a potential human life, not an actual life yet.

This is why I am pro-choice.

What do you base this belief on? It's certainly not anything scientific or Biblical.

Biblically speaking, there is no discrimination against human beings based upon their age or level of development. Scripture speaks of all human beings as possessing inherent moral worth and value. All human beings are created in the image of God.

Scientifically speaking, we know that a new and unique human being comes into existence at fertilization. Human development takes roughly 25 years, beginning at fertilization. Yet, at no point during our development are we not a human being.

So why are you discriminating against human beings based upon their age and level of development?

So why are you discriminating against human beings based upon their age and level of development?

Science proves that embryos don't even have a heartbeat until three-four weeks, how can you possibly then say that life "begins at conception".

All human beings are created in the image of God, yes, but fetuses are not human beings.

Also, the Bible seems to support my position.

Exodus 21:22-25 "If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe."

If men fight and hurt a pregnant woman and she has a miscarriage (which is dictionarily defined as "the expulsion of a fetus from the womb before it is able to survive independently, especially spontaneously or as the result of accident), but no serious physical, lasting harm comes to the woman, the only thing the men have to do is pay a fine. But if there is serious harm, such as the death of the mother, then the penalty is capital punishment or whatever else is deemed appropriate.

If God really felt that the two were equivalent, then the punishment would be death for both instances. But it's not.

The two are simply not equivalent.

If a couple of pranking teenagers break into a facility and knowingly kick open a jar of three frozen embryos, should they be charged with three counts of murder, or just breaking and entering and vandalism?

They should not be charged with murder, just the vandalism.

You can't seriously believe that embryos have the same status as born infants. They just don't.

The decision to bear a child is the hardest decision a woman has to make in her life, and she must make that choice for herself. While I would prefer if all women carried their pregnancies to term, I know it just isn't economically feasible for some women.

Like our Lord said, "Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment." (John 7:24)

That's why I'm pro-choice.
