1. How does evolution account for the doctrine of Original Sin?

2. How does evolution account for the Adamic Nature?

3. How does evolution explain Ussher's time line?

4. How does evolution explain Jesus being a man?

Oh look, AV derails another thread.

I would like this thread to be open for any of the lurkers that have questions about evolution, science and it's impact on Christianity.

Please just honest questions about the subjects, I tire of the standard creationist vs evolutionist claptrap.

OK. Here is a serious one:

People suggested that Christianity is the foundation of the modern science. Is it a valid idea?

No, absolutely not. Science has deep roots in ancient Greece, early China, the Arab world in the Middle Ages, etc. It's quite vain of you to believe it all stemmed from Christianity. Actually, during the Enlightenment, the Christian Church was getting pretty irritated that science was departing from being just a group of people out to prove the Bible right. I'm sure many scientists back then were inspired by their faith to study the world, but that's hardly reason to claim that modern science was birthed from Christianity. It seems these days that a sizable chunk of American Christians wish to insert religion back into the science classroom anyway...

Maybe it had better start then.

There are too many hurdles that evolution has to clear, if I am to accept it as a viable explanation for anything other than my Roundup losing its efficacy at year's end.

You don't have to accept it. You just have to use your "boolean standards" to partake in the benefits of this false doctrine. ;)

It doesn't. Research into evolution will continue in spite of and regardless of how persistently other people assume nonsensical things to be true. It has no comment on original sin, no comment on the "Adamic Nature" and couldn't care less about Ussher. Your hangups with evolution not fitting into claims you're assuming are true are your problem, no-one elses.

Scientific theories in no way seeks to explain myths. It would be akin to asking how our current understanding of electrical thunderstorms explains how big Thor's hammer is.

While ToE has powerful explanatory value in explaining human nature, old fables and mythical accounts do not. If you hope to have a solid understanding, I wouldn't mix apples and oranges.

May I assume then that that is your answer to the OP as well?

That evolution renders Christianity 'nonsensical'?

So, are you saying that you won't use any technology, medicine, or whatever that used evolutionary theory in its development?
What technology uses macroevolution in its development?

Macro and micro evolution have the same mechanism. It's all evolution. We should start a counter that adds up every time someone has explain this to you. We'd easily be in the thousands by now.

Then you won't mind if I go ahead and use 'technology, medicine, or whatever', will you?

Depends on whether you want to accept evolution, both micro and macro. Otherwise, you'd be benefiting from something that you claim doesn't exist.

1 x 0 = 0
1/0 = universe explodes

your point?
Accepting micro without macro is like saying addition and subtraction exist but multiplication and division don't when they hit a boundary (0) they cannot cross.
