No guns here. But I can understand why someone would see the need.
Flintlocks are cool.

I grew up in the country and hunting was part of country culture.
We didn't harvest what we didn't eat.
We raised livestock also.
Being a retired copper I tend to be prepared because I've seen so much that shouldn't
happen to anyone that happened anyway.
Sickening things.
Like the 64 year old grandma working mid nights at a gas station alone and raped by
a 24 year old stoned on meth.
He went to prison to serve 4 years, she is condemned to live the rest of her life with terrible
emotional pain.
She had p.t.s.d. so bad she never worked again.
I NEVER want to harm anyone in any way.
My p.t.s.d. and depression is bad enough.

Welcome.
I take the screen name for a good reason.
I own a .58 caliber "jeager" style muzzle loading rifle built by Kieth Lysle of
southern Ohio.
He's gone to God's hands now.
He only built 106 rifles in his life, all hand made, thus my Jeager style, flintlock
is # 106.
jeager means hunter.
I mistakenly signed on as 016 instead of 106.
opppps.
Where was he located? (I am from Southern OH-IO)

I'm sort of a prepper . I have guns , I hunt , fish , make all my own fishing tackle , collect and dry wild herbs and plants to use for medicine and more . I know that somehow the scriptures are taken by some to lead you to believe wandering around in la la land , thinking God is gonna drop manna from heaven on you . He gave you free choice and a brain to learn the signs of impending misfortune . The signs say prep up boys and girls . For those that still want to stay in la la land . Go lay on a railroad track long enough waiting on your special angel to pluck you out of harms way, remember at that last moment your getting what YOU decided on .

Thank you jeager16 . Just trying to lay it out in plain English . Maybe save some hardship for somebody . Even possibly plant a seed of thought . There is one thing you had better store up in stainless steel or glass. WATER the one thing every American takes for granted every day. No plastic because the poly components eventually leak in to the water . All plastics will contaminate over the course of time .

I have watched doomsday preppers before and while much of that show is pure foolishness I have come to this conclusion. Never tell what you have as if you do those that do not prepare could come after all you have. If you have enough to share when that times do so. If you do not it will be between you and God.

I feel and express the same sentiments as many here regarding the use of the word "prepper" as though it is something new. Growing up I always took part in "prepping" food from my grandparents garden. There was enough food produced (with the exception of imported foods and basic staples like flour) to feed 12 people on preserves, dried fruit, and root cellar vegetables such as potatoes, almost until the following harvest. In addition. my grandparents had chickens, honey bees, a cow, pigs and a work horse. They had fruit trees and berry patches.

As an adult, the wisdom of gardening taught to me from my grandparents has always motivated me to have my own garden to feed and supplement my families food consumption. Not only do my garden grown foods taste better, but I can avoid GM foods, keep my soil fertile with composted materials, and use natural methods to combat pests and diseases. This gives me at least some control over what we consume. I do nothing any different today than I did then.

Otherwise, I've always stock piled water and other supplies when a storm may knock out power, and/or keep us housebound for a few days. I've always relied on wood heat to keep us warm and for cooking when there is a power outage. This was, and still is, all simple common sense to me. But by today's definition of "prepper," I would certainly be placed in the category of a "Christian prepper".

It is harvest time now, and the process of preserving and storing food for the winter has begun. And as always, at the very least it off sets my food costs for the year, and if necessary there will be plenty to eat if something more devastating should occur. But we really have no idea what will happen, or when...just that the world is in chaos financially and spiritually and it cannot continue on this path much longer.

However, regardless of what I consider a normal and annual event for me, or whether I'm considered a Christian prepper or not by others, my faith, trust, hope and peace are in Jesus our Lord, King and Savior. I accept that our Father has a time line only he knows, and being spiritually prepared for what is to come is far more important to me then anything I can physically do myself to feed, care for, and protect my family and loved ones. He is in control of my life now, and my future...as he is for every one of us. We have nothing to fear, and much to rejoice about and be thankful for with Jesus in our lives. We may very well be the generation to see Satan's influence on the world wiped out with all his minions. What a glorious time to be one of His children and witness His prophecies unfold.

God be with you.

I think or it like this there is someone worth living for.
For some yes
I think love, faith, and hope all tend toward life. Doubt, fear, and resignation tend toward death.
Is that why people die.not enough love, faith or hope....it is appointed unto man once to die,for the Christian death is the pathway to eternal life and liberation from this place that even on a good day does not compare with eternity.

Death is also where the rubber meets the road and all things we as Christians talk about and tell others about meets the moment of truth,if we fight and resist as much as the unbeliever what kind of witness is that.

I am just curious and have always wondered about the mindset of a Christian prepper. Now I get being ready for a small disaster, maybe a few weeks of food supply or so bags with needed supplies ready to go. However how can you biblically justify spending large quantities of time and money prepping for a disaster? It seems to me Jesus did really tell us to prepare like that. I've always viewed serious prepping as holding too tightly to this life. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm just curious on your Biblical reasoning for prepping.
Hi there, I am new to this forum so please bear with me. I am writing a book called, Finding the spider, - a unified biblical conspiracy theory. www.findingthespider.com and I think it is this that has lead me to move in the direction of becoming a prepper. I am very concerned about the mindset of many Christians that seem to have a gleeful-idiots approach to facing suffering. I suppose I am becoming a prepper not to hide but to fight, and I think that this is biblical and manly. As this is all new to me, I mean the practical steps in becoming a prepper, I suppose you will have to watch this space just to see how I work it out. Time is short, and I may be far too late. We shall see!

Yes.

For the reason you just quoted me as saying.

See Pr 6:6-11
I am convinced the wrath is coming to the world and in particular the West. I believe that God has been gracious enough with the trump presidency and in the United Kingdom with brexit, to allow areas where the church, and those who are awake in the church, can prepare for the wrath to come. Listen now, I don't think action to have the most horrendous of times! Nevertheless, regarding the tribulation- period, I am a pre-wrath rapture man myself. In other words, where be around for a good bit of it. Yet, I say again, you don't have to be in the tribulation period to face the most horrendous of times. I am personally convinced, these most horrendous of times are on our doorstep. Therefore, I want to prepare to meet them, to thrive, survive, and prosper.

It happens when you havn't suffered very much or not at all and you watch too much TV and too many movies and think it is an accurate portrayal of suffering.

I hear people all the time who seem to think that when it all falls apart we will just go back to life on The Waltons or Little House on the Praire....folks just a barterin and a tradin and a plantin, heck we might even have a barn raisin .....no connection with reality.
