I have some holy water I obtained years ago when I used to be an Orthodox catechumen. Several bottles in fact. I had heard Orthodox drank holy water but I am not sure if it is used for sprinkling on objects or a house.
Last Sunday morning we had some problems in our apartment that I believe may have possibly been of a spiritual nature. For the sake of propriety I do not want to go into the details on an open forum, but it may have been happening every Sunday morning before church for a few weeks. I took some holy water and sprinkled it around the house and I also drank some. I also immediately ordered a holy water sprinkler off Amazon and it arrived the next day and I repeated the sprinkling, and I put up a large icon my Lutheran pastor gave me a few months ago but I never bothered to take out of the bag he gave it to me in, it is an old icon of the Resurrection, and I have a candle lit near it (previously I had an icon there but no lit candle and I hadn't payed much attention to it).
At first I wondered if the changed vibe in the apartment wasn't suggestion, but it became harder to dismiss as the hours went on, and I realized it was an experience of the presence of God and that lasted for several hours even up until I fell asleep. In fact when I went to bed I almost had such an intense feeling of joy I couldn't fall asleep right away.
How should Orthodox holy water be used? I know Orthodox Christians drink it, but is it also OK to sprinkle it?
