• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Highly recommended---->

It makes me somewhat sad and frustrated because all these "ministries" pop up but what I think I need more than anything is just people who are actually concerned with ME, and not with a ministry.

I have spent a lot of time on the threads where people argue constantly. I feel strongly that it is a good thing to stand up for what seems to be right to a person, and am not ashamed to have spent all that time there, but seeing this section, and how almost dead it is, makes me sad.

We don't need more and more ministries. Christians can take care of each other one by one, just helping each other and affirming each other and BEING there. Sometimes, when you're down, you don't even have a firm grasp on why, but if there's another person there to talk to, you can just get through it that one time. One time after another, and soon you realize you are going to get through it. Oh sure, other times come, other situations... It just always helps to have people who understand and are supportive.

I know that other people are the most important thing in being encouraged but at the same time, things like FIC can be used by them to help others see the truth and be better equipped to deal with whatever they're facing.

I say this from personal experience: I had read the book by neil t. anderson "stomping out the darkness" and though it was filled with awesome truths, it didn't really make much difference. Then some one else talked with me and showed me the EXACT SAME truths while explaining them to me and talking it out with me and it made a HUGE difference in my life.
Yes God uses people, but He doesn't use them independantly of other resources.

thanks for the link, it IS a wonderful site:thumbsup:
