Why? Some people are just hostile towards Christ. They think that enlightened people don't believe in those fairy tales or what not. I used to be an atheist so I know all the excuses.

Just take it in stride, and keep in mind that you are blessed:

Matt 5:11-12

11 "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

I told the pastor that I wanted eternal life and he led me into a prayer to accept Jesus. Is that all I had to do?

Also, when you read your New Testament, take note of how baptism is often part of the conversion process. I only mention this because it is often neglected and put off, in some cases for months or years.

To the people who asked (after hearing Peter's sermon in Acts ch 2) "what shall we do?" Peter mentions it specifically.

Nuff said about that.

Before I go I do want to say-- Congratulations on your commitment to Christ! You won't be sorry of making this turn.

In parting-- Don't let people discourage you with stories about how the bible isn't true, etc. etc. When you run across it (being in college you certainly will, and soon) seek out some wise godly counsel. There's an ample amount of resources available defending the bible.

Hi,

I went to church again this morning so I could talk to the pastor after the service. Well, I talked to the pastor and he told me some information about how much God loves me. It broke me down to tears. He told me that even though we are seperated from God, He actually came down to be a human. He concluded by saying all I have to do is accept His free gift of eternal life and ask Him to forgive my sins and live like Him in love. I told the pastor that I wanted eternal life and he led me into a prayer to accept Jesus. Is that all I had to do?

The first thing you need to learn is that satan is not happy with your choice, and these first few day, satan will send every conceivable discouragement your way.



When satan knocks on your door, just tell Jesus to take care of it. The battle is God's, the victory is yours.

It's good that you have these questions, it means that you know there is something more than what we can see. I'm sorry, but what you learnt when you were growing up about being able to get to heaven by being good is all wrong. No one can get to heaven on good works. The only way to heaven is through accepting Jesus as your saviour and having a personal relationship with him. Sin is going against God's will basically. Doing evil in his eyes. Everyone in the world has sinned, and because God is soooooo perfect, he doesn't allow sin into heaven, and so seeming we have all sinned, we can not get into heaven by ourselves. That's why Jesus came to save our lives. By dieing on the cross, his blood was shed so that we were allow to enter heaven free of charge. All you have to do is believe in Jesus. God bless you
