I googled Caddo Lake - it looks amazing - just beautiful. I can see why it appeals to your family. I've never been to Texas, but my sister lived in New Orleans in the 80's & 90's - when we visited her we took a bayou tour - looks very similar. Sort of an eerie beauty.
It is similar, very close to Louisiana as well. Here is a pic of my hubby and youngest looking for the alligator that was out that afternoon.

I went to college at Stephen F Austin in Nacogdoches Texas and during a big party there was Bear wrestling. lol I can't imagine wrestling either animal.

Oh and the gator wasn't huge probably 5ft to the tip of its tail, but more than big enough for me. When we went canoeing my family was hoping to see one, but I kept praying for no gators till we got back to shore.

I'd have been praying right along with you - a 5 foot gator can still move pretty quickly when they want to and can inflict a nasty bite. I'd rather not deal with them close up.

Oh yea, a 5ft is still pretty big. After the picture was taken they both turned around and were like. Whoa gator. lol Once when we were camping, at another park, we were about 10ft from the waters edge, and when we woke up that morning a gator was out getting some sun. I didn't appreciate that too much. Luckily we didn't see him after that.

Where do you get your news? (newspaper, tv, radio, online?)

What is one of your favorite "spare time" activities (i.e. reading, gardening, watching tv)?

If you're a tv watcher, which do you prefer - reality tv (Survivor, American Idol), sitcoms (no examples - don't watch them), dramas (L&O, CSI) or how to (i.e. HGTV, Food Network)? Or do you watch the older shows (Cosby, MASH, Bonanza) on Nick at Nite and/or TV Land?

Do you own any interesting artwork? :)
I would say the most interesting artwork I own is a mural that is on a wall (room use to be the room my daughters shared). It is something my mom did. Has a tree that goes all the way up oneside also 2 little girls, one blonde and one red headed that are from a Precious Moments book, but a little bee and some butterflies and such. It is very cute and wonderfully special. It is similar to one she put on my wall when I was about 4. I still remember it.

watching movies

I hate reality tv, love sitcoms, not into the dramas at all, watch a lot of food network and TLC.

Is there anything that you collect?
Now or in the past, even childhood.
Didn't really collect anything as a kid, well except dust bunnies. lol But now I collect tea cups and milk glass. My tea cup shelf is now full so I have to decide what to get rid of or stop cuz there is nowhere else to put it all.

What comment or conversation has had a great impact on you?
Honestly the converstion that has had the biggest impact on me was with my oldest when she was about 3. For Christmas my dad bought her these Christian movies, at the time we didn't go to chruch. I kinda new a few of the stories, but not much. I remember her explaining to me when Jesus was Baptized what it meant and the dove. I asked if she had talked to her grandpa about it or if she had watched it at his house and she said no. So I started going to a bible study and one of the first topics was the Baptizm of Jesus and she was 100% right.

Cool!

What book are you reading right now? Do you ever read books that you've read before?
I was just looking at the store the other day for a new book. But didn't see anything I was interested in paying for. lol May go check out the library soon. You know any good books?

I have reread one book. The Great Divorce by CS Lewis. Read it once didn't get much from it. Remember my Pastor talking about it during a Bible Study on night and he made it sound really wonderful. Read it again, and I think I may have slept through some of the book the first time. It was great and there were huge parts I didn't remember reading at all. So I have read it about 3 times and thats it.

What are some of the weirdest things you have eaten for breakfast?
Well cold fried chicken is pretty yummy. Ummm I have had a piece of b-day cake (not really that weird). Love cold pizza for breakfast. I am not a big breakfast eater. One of my favorites is toast w/ PB&J grape jelly is the only way to go.
