  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi, so I had an odd dream last night, and I think it's from God. Las night before I went to bed, I was listening to worship music and focusing on becoming more intimate with the Holy Spirit. I did ask God to give me a dream, and I believe He did.

In the dream, I got out of my car with my girlfriend. We were walking around this town that looked a bit familiar to me, but we kind of got lost and were trying to get back to the car. We were then underneath some kind of bridge, where we saw a baby in a stroller. There was a family nearby, and they said the baby was not theirs. So, we took the baby, and tried to find who he/she belonged to. Off to the side of the underpass, we took a better look at the baby, and found something very wrong with it. Its head was coming out of its belly instead of where it is supposed to be. We were afraid the baby wouldn't live very long, so we tried to take care of it.

Now, this part is weird: Somehow this baby became encased inside of a hamburger. Eventually the family that owned the baby came to us, but it was too late because the baby died. I prayed and asked God for a miracle, and just a short moment later, out of the burger the baby was resurrected. I went over to hug him, and the first thing I noticed is he was no longer a baby. He was a fully grown person. He got up and started talking to me. He looked a lot like me, and I started to think this person actually was me. When I asked him, he never gave me an answer, and started talking in a voice similar to mine, but with a British accent. He kept on talking about things, and the only things I remember were him saying he came from the sky 50,000 feet up. He also went over and pinched my ear for some reason. Then, the dream ended shortly after.

I prayed and asked God what this dream means, and I can only think that the person in my dream was a representation of the Holy Spirit residing in me. It makes sense, as I sort of had a refreshing of the Spirit the night before, and in a sense my Spirit was rejuvenated after a long time of suppression and sin. I really think this is a dream from God and not just a random fleshly dream. I don't know why God sometimes puts strange things in dreams like this, but I want to ask if anyone could help me make some sense of this dream.

BTW, I have no idea where to even post dreams because I couldn't find a specific place that clearly says dream interpretation, but I found other similar threads in the Spiritual Gifts forum, so that's where I posted.

the British accent and pinching your ear means you aren't hearing the Spirit clearly yet. same thing with the baby and the hamburger; not seeing things clearly yet.

This is not an interpretation, but a sharing of similar dreams on my part.

I came to the realization that we are made in the image of God as a trinity, not triune beings. The term triune is to indicate that we are 3 parts of a whole. A body, soul and spirit. However, God is three persons in one. The Father has a mind and will of his own, The Word has a mind and will of his own, and the Spirit has a mind and a will of his own. Yet they have always mutually submitted to one another thus are one person. We are the same. Our spirits have a mind and will of its own, our souls have a mind and will of its own and our bodies have a mind and will of its own.

As a youth and young adult I carefully recorded my dreams in a dream journal. I had noticed that I was often one place in my dream looking at myself in another place in the dream. Then my point of view would be from that second me in the dream.

I think the person you saw that looked like you yet came from 50,000 feet above is your spirit. Your spirit is joined with Christ in heaven. The baby, the burger and the man seem to be a picture of your new born spirit, which is a new creation in Christ one with the Holy Spirit, of which Jesus said rivers of living water would flow from your belly. As a baby Christians the burger seems to be a picture of carnality (carne means meat or beef) you came out of but are now maturing in Christ.

As I reflect on your dream I will address those other elements of your dream.

Thank you very much for your reply! I definitely think what you said is what God is trying to tell me. The past few days I have been drawing closer to Holy Spirit and away from my fleshly desires. I feel that my spirit has been renewed even more too.

Blessings in Christ Jesus! A perfect revelation for those who have an ear to hear and a heart to perceive. You asked and you have received. Your desire is to be more intimate with Holy Spirit and the dream shows you how.You see a person must die to self in order to live. The baby in the dream represents our old self before asking for a miricle(rebirth). Before, our god was our bellies(the lust for the things of this world and not for the Things from above.) In your dream the car represents getting back to the path and the town looking familiar is because we are in this world but not of it.Taking care of the baby is like reviving our old self which must die in order to live. The british accent represents that they shall speak in new tongues. The new baby to man represents that The Lord will finish the work He started in us. We will decrease as He increases. So you are correct you dream was and is a revelation from The Lord to you and now every one who reads this post. For those who are truly born from above, (the touching of the ear) you will hear His voice and He will lead you unto all rightiousness.

You're like that child starving for your break through, your mind isn't where it's suppose to be. You're focus is on your sin, and that which gives sin it's power over you which is the law. Your focus should only be on Christ and His righteousness that represents you before God. "As He is so are you in this world". That is divine declaration right there, no matter what you think feel or do.

When the Bible speaks about the lusts of the flesh, or the desires of the flesh it is not all about sex. What the flesh desires is to be made righteous, to be justified, and you try to do that by working the law. The flesh can never be made righteous, or be justified. You are not justified by your works under the law. Christ already worked the law for you. It's a done finished job. You don't go touching it, and putting your hands over His finished work. That is for His Glory alone, and not yours. If you work for it, you would be entitled to some. But He wants it all and you get none of it. He wants you to just leave His finished perfect work alone. You'd just mess it up.

Remember, your righteousness is like filthy rags (dirty tampons). Jesus doesn't want you throwing dirty tampons on His cross. He doesn't like your tampons. Don't try to pay Him or bribe Him with dirty tampons. It's all you got and He doesn't want them. He just wants you to accept what He did for you with great humility and just be thankful. That's it.
When John was writing about the confessing sins, and receiving forgiveness, he was writing to the non believer, the Jew, the agnostic. He was preaching the gospel to those that didn't have it, didn't know what Christ did, had not yet came to Christ, and asked for forgiveness. He was by no means preaching to the choir (those that had already received aka the believer).

Paul's letters were to the churches, and never does Paul preach on repeatedly confessing your sins and asking for forgiveness. Christ forgave you of all your sins, past, present, future when you first came to Him. He wants you to believe it, and stop bothering Him about is as if you don't believe it.

As far as Paul is concerned the moment the believer accepted Christ, God pulled them out from under the law, and separated them from their sins as far as east is from west. All your sins from past, present, and future, He remembers no more. The only work of God for you to do is this: Believe in the One whom He has sent. Your work is to look upon His work, admire it, and glorify it. But never go back to it, and never touch it. You are not under the law anymore. Christ brought you out from under the law, you are now and always forever (even if you don't feel like it) under grace. Sin is no longer accounted to you. God doesn't see your sin. He only sees Christ's righteousness, His blood, and you are covered from head to toe in it. When you go confessing sins and asking God for forgiveness, He's probably wondering what the heck you're going on about. If God was to ever look at your sin, He would have to apologize to His Son.

Sure, you can commit a crime, you can do things that are of no benefit, and things which do not edify, but you no longer being under the law. When you are not under law all things become lawful for you to do.
When all things are lawful for you to do (as Paul says) technically it is impossible for you to "sin".
However, this is not to say that actions don't have consequences, or that God won't correct and discipline you if you behave like an ass. He will. He wants what's best for you, and He is a responsible Father.

So remember you no longer to work the law, and in fact God Himself will write His laws on your heart (again not something that you do, He does that), and over time the Father will make all your enemies, things you struggle with (that are not to your benefit and don't edify) your footstool. You just rest in in Christ (and His finished work) whom represents you at the Father's right hand as He does it.

I recommend you read Galatians to help you get further grounded in His grace, and especially read chapter three.

I have some crazy, vivid dreams at times, and sometimes my faith comes into them. Our minds are a mystery at times and shows that our subconscious is always active even when we are asleep. It's like my computer is always running in the background when it is in sleep mode. I hesitate to try and interpret my dreams because of the illogical and sometimes confused nature of them. I had one dream once that took away my fear of death, and another one which took away my fear of demons. I can believe that God gave me those dreams for that purpose, but they were never for the purpose of guidance.

Joseph, the husband of Mary had three dreams, but they were not illogical or confused. They were definite events which gave him specific guidance. In Acts, Peter was relaxing on the housetop and went into a trance and had the vision of the big sheet full on unclean animals. I wonder if he actually dozed off and it came as a dream? But these dreams were definite and clear, and not like the majority of the dreams that we have.

Only last night, I had a dream that I was being shown around a farm, which seemed like in my home town. I was warned that there were dangerous animals there, although I never saw them. There was a world war 2 airplane there partly dismantled (a friend of the family did have one on his farm). I got back to the farm house to have breakfast and the farmer's wife was just going out the door to a breakfast with someone else and had the plates of food in her hands. Our breakfast was on the table. Then I looked at my watch, and the glass was cracked, and it showed 8:40am. I thought, "Gosh! I'm late for work!" I rushed around looking for a phone, and I saw an antique one on the bed, but that wasn't the one. I saw another one, then went running around looking for a phone book, because I had left my diary and cell phone in my briefcase at home. Then I went outside, and all the farmer's friends had these old 1930s cars. (When I was a child a friend of the family had an old Model A Ford.) The farmer appeared and he was in a sports coat, tie and slacks. He looked almost like a Christian friend of mine. Then I suddenly realised that I am retired, so I yelled out, "I am retired!!!!" I felt so relieved! It was actually a Monday and I knew that it was my day off (I do voluntary work at a community organisation), and the weather was damp. Then I woke up.

So this dream was a mixture of childhood memories, worry about being late for work, and the sense of being retired. I don't know where the dangerous animals in the bush at the farm came from. But the vividness of the dream make it appear that I was really there. It seemed like a real world to me, it was so vivid. The fact that I can remember it so clearly is significant. I wonder if some good fiction writers use their dreams as material?

John Bunyan's Pilgrims Progress came about because he said he had a dream. That's interesting, isn't it?

I've had psycodelic dreams like that before, I usually can't find anything in them that leads me to believe they are from God. If they are from God, from my experience, there is always a clear coherent message in them. But maybe i'm just not smart enough to figure out dreams like yours. Here's the last dream I had from God.
U.S. ARMY, MAR. 20, 2017 MON.
I dreamed I was in the army and our Lt. Col. was transfered somewhere else and our subordinante commander was promoted to Lt. Col so he could take over the batallion. Immediately he made some changes. He had a soldier he didn't like demoted even though he was a good soldier. This caused everyone to fear what might befall them. 2 other soldiers he sent to Brigade headquarters to be transfered to anther unit and he told them if he saw them around his unit they would be in big trouble so they left immediately. I figured I would be his next target because he had an intense dislike of me. But he got distracted after he cut our coffee rations down to one cup a day. he went off doing something else leaving us all to worry about what was next. Woould we be transfered or demoted too? A bunch of soldiers were sitting around talking about it worrying about it, and I said that I had a dream wherein God spoke to me and told me that I would always win if I always allowed God to always make all the decisions. I figured this would help everyone but it helped no one, their problems were overpowering and they just couldn't assauge their fears by faith.

Lots of meaning in if for me, probably doesn't look like much to anyone else.

This dream, in the way of the British accent, does indeed represent the Holy Spirit doing good through you. The pinch held no meaning.

However I feel you will find my interpretation of the beginning quite interesting. Please bear in mind my interpretation is truly what the Holy Spirit is speaking to me.

The baby in the beginning of your dream represents a miracle. The baby had died very prematurely- still in the mother's stomach. The mother had a group of Christians pray over her through the Holy Spirit. Then the child was brought back to life, born with no physical limitations. Now this next part might shock you.

That child was you.

Speak to your mother about this. She may not be honest the first time around, but eventually I assure you this will prove true. If you need me for anything else, feel free to message me. I am always here :)

Have a blessed day!
