  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Help, I'm so embarrassed.....

I'm a woman and over the past 4 months or so I've been growing facial hair on my chin. I began using tweezers but didn't know this would make the problem worse. I've started to shave and use make-up to cover the problem, but my chin is so red now that the make-up looks unnatural if I cover it up completely. I'm so mortified and it's done something to my self-esteem. I don't want other people to find out.
So until laser surgery can get rid of the problem (a long and costly process) I'm searching for ways to reduce the redness but do something that allows me to remove the hair on a daily basis. Any suggestions or comforting comments appreciated.

Just curious, how many calories (roughly) are you eating per day?

Back to your question, have you thought about electrolysis? Gel hair removers might irritate the skin but the redness should go away. As to shaving, I would consider using a 3 blade razor very lightly.

Other than that, you might ask a good cosmetologist or even a dermatologist. There are many solutions to this.

Good luck.

what about having your dr. check your hormone levels? they could be out of wack? if that is not the case... i highly recommend waxing... its painful at first, but the benefits are worth it... nair makes a really nice kind... its in a small tub, and its water soluable so if you put it somewhere you didnt intend to, it'll wash right off... i get very irritated skin when i use a razor thats why i switched to waxing... i dont do my legs with it much anymore cause it takes forever, but for something like a chin it wouldnt take so long... i know a few ladies that go to the salon to get their chins waxed and that works well for them... but thats more expensive and i dont know how much it costs...
hope that helps! :)

You really should Go to the Doc. to have your Hormones checked. There is a condtion called PCOS that may cause hair growth on your chin, chest and ect. Waiting to have this checked my lead to infertility! Once DX, your Doctor may perscribe something that will slow the growth.

GOOD LUCK!:prayer:

King Element,
I'm not a calorie counter, but I gained 20 pounds over the past 14-15 months (after losing it in 4-5 months). I definately need to lose that weight again because I'm 20-25 pouhds overweight.
I find that I eat more when I'm less active, but eat less when I work out regularily. Strange, I know, but it probably has something to do with stress reduction.
If you know something about diet and calories and this problem I have, definately let me know.
I had my first session of laser, but the hair grew back in a few days. I'm sure things will improve in a few months time, it's just a matter of waiting...

Shania, I had the same problem. Mine turned out to be hypothyroid. This may explain your weight gain. I started growing hair on my face, my nipples (yeah, I know it sucks), AND started losing hair on my head. Doesn't make for a good self-esteem!! Luckily, a little pill turned me from the frog I was becoming back into a princess! Giggle.
